  7. All 83 Icons included here (32x32 pixels, 16 colors), can be used for any
  8. Windows/WfWG 9x/3.xx application/program group/menu/item/shortcut/link
  9. or for your favorite DOS programs/games you are running from a DOS session
  10. within Win9x/3.1x, and/or when you assign them custom PIF files for running
  11. in real MS-DOS mode under Win9x.
  12. This archive contains the single file version of my 83 icons (MYICONS.DLL),
  13. in .DLL (Dynamic Link Library) format, compressed for reduced file size and
  14. convenience.

  21. STEP BY STEP GUIDELINES:

  24. A. To change a Program Manager group/item icon in Windows/WfWG 3.xx:
  25.  
  26. 1. Click once on the Program Manager icon you want to change.
  27. 2. Click on File from Program Manager's menu.
  28. 2. Click Properties.
  29. 3. Select Change Icon.
  30. 4. Click Browse to search your local drive(s) for the desired icon or icon
  31.    library: .CPL, .DLL, .EXE, .ICL, .ICO, etc.
  32. 5. Double-click on a highlighted file to assign a particular icon/icon
  33.    library to your program/group.
  34.    If an icon library contains more than one icon, browse to the icon of
  35.    your choice, and then double-click on it to select.
  36. 6. Click OK twice to save your changes.

  39. B. To change a shortcut/link/folder icon in Windows 98/95:

  41. 1. Right-click on the Desktop, Start Menu or Explorer icon you want to
  42. change.
  43. 2. Click Properties.
  44. 3. Select the Shortcut tab.
  45. 4. Click Change Icon.
  46. 5. Click Browse to search your local drive(s) for the desired icon or icon
  47.    library: .CPL, .DLL, .EXE, .ICL, .ICO, etc.
  48. 6. Double-click (or click Open) on a highlighted file to assign a
  49.    particular icon/icon library to your shortcut/link/folder.
