- doordriver, little things that I missed. Made alot of

- Version 2.00- It has now officially been over a year since I started
- programming this game. I started in the shed in my backyard,
- on a short summer night. My friend was sleeping in the bed
- behind me and we had talked about writing this game for hours.
- We wrote this game because at the time, we couldn't find ANY
- BBS Simulator games.. So I sat down and taught myself to
- program and walla, here's the game! Anyways, enough with
- history class. This version will have ALOT of bugs. ;> Just
- swapped it over from Edoor to DDPlus. I suggest that anyone
- considering writing a door avoid Edoor. Got alot of complaints
- of it incorrectly openning ports. So this version should fix

- Version 1.93- Fixed the main menu, which wasn't displaying correctly on the
- player's side.

- Version 1.91- Fixed a major bug with the hard drive size getting swapped
- with the number of hours of work left to do.

- Version 1.9 - Main thing, Added sysop definable messages. Now registered
- sysops can add up to 32,000 messages. I give registered
- sysops full permission to create MESSAGE.DAT files, and
- distribute them as alternatives to the standard MESSAGE.DAT
- for this game. Let's see if you can do better than I can.
- Also, Changed the commands around, and made a new stats
- screen. Changed the registration codes to a different format
- that is easier for my printer. ;> MAJOR NEWS: I finally added
- dual support for BOTH Renegade (already had it) pipe codes,
- AND LORD colors, got tired of people trying to use LORD
- color codes with no success. Players can now change their
- aliasses. The game no longer screws up player's aliasses if
- they add color codes to their names. Game now randomly decides
- how many hours of work and how many messages the player will
- have each day, Makes it a little nicer. Many other little
- additions. PLEASE report bugs to me if you find any, I will
- be reachable through fidonet.

- Version 1.61- DOH! Gordy French forgot to add a randomize command in his
- registration routines. It made the game VERY predictable.

- Version 1.6 - Wrote a configuration program, type Sim-Cfg at the dos prompt.
- Players can now have a seperate alias for the game. Comes in
- handy on boards that don't pass an alias to the game. Stopped
- loading the overlays into EMS, was locking some boards (Thanks
- to "The Gleek" for pointing this out). Cleaned up the mail
- between players, now you can reply to mail sent to you, and you
- get 15 lines of mail instead of <GAG> 2. Game no longer asks
- if you want to network your new machine with the old one if
- you already bought a network. Player edittor only works with
- registered sysops.

- Version 1.5 - Fixed many bugs in the beta. Didn't keep track of them because
- it was a very close knit Beta test and only the locals got a
- copy. NEW FEATURE. You can now send mail to other players!
- This has been needed for a long time, and finally got it added.
- You can thank my co-programmer, Gordy French for helping with
- that part.

- Version 1.4ß- Added Yesterday's news. Added a demonstration of pipe color
- codes to the instructions. Changed it so that you can network
- your old system with your new system. This is what I decided to
- do instead of people selling their old systems, because we all
- know you don't get jack for your out of date machine, so now you
- can just network your old system with the new one for an extra
- $100. Added an extra stat to the main screen to let them know if
- they have a network or not. Added an option to the backroom menu
- to let the players shut down their BBS if they decide not to
- run their BBS anymore. Added an option to quit reading mail,
- so that they don't get stuck reading all their messages in one
- sitting. Added about 20-30 more messages to read, some may not
- be politically correct, oh well! Fixed problems with people using
- background colors to mess up the scores and the backroom. Added
- extra help when they hit Instructions, to explain pipe color
- codes! Finally figured out how to use Overlays, so now half the
- game loads into upper memory! Whew! Lot's in this version! Enjoy!

- Version 1.3 - Ooops! Users could buy 700 meg of RAM even if they only had
- $100, and it would give them $30,000 in the process. Same
- thing happend when buying nodes. Added "Mini-Stats" when
- buying certain items. Fixed other bugs also. Added a
- hidden command, can you find it?

- Version 1.2ß- Fixed some spelling errors. Made room in the program for
- future additions. Ooops! Fixed the bug that would kill your
- BBS after you got a certain number of nodes. You can now
- view your stats at the store. Completely re-did "Work On BBS"
- routines. The game is alot larger now.

- Version 1.1 - The sort procedure was totally messed on some systems.
- It would spend an hour sorting, and never have done anything.
- I'm hoping it's fixed, if not, it is now possible for the user
- to abort the sort. Sorry.

- Version 1.0 - Wrote the Shareware Version finally. It's got a nice
- little trick to it. Fixed a potential problem, if the
- sysop defines ALOT of BBS softwares, or CPU Types, it
- would have scrolled off the screen, added a pause every
- 24 lines. Also, Fixed it so the players can't get negative
- subscribers. Ooops! No more bugs, Ready to ship now!

- Version 0.9 - New Feature, The sysop can define how many different
- CPU types, and brands of BBS software there will be,
- so that it's not limmitted to 10 and 5.. Fixed the
- scoreboard, so that color codes don't mess up the colors
- of the rest of the line. Added my Fiance' to the messages,
- make sure you reply kindly. ;> Replaced the ANSi for the
- main menu/stats screen. Looks alot better now. Enjoy!

- Version 0.8 - Lemme see.. Fixed a little problem where I forgot a color
- code. Heheh, Also made the names in the conversation room
- uppercase and lower case, to make it look better. When the
- user chooses a BBS name, it no longer re-does their
- capitolization for them. Also, putting color codes in the
- BBS software, CPUNames, or most importantly, their BBS name
- will no longer screw the borders thanks to some fancy
- early morning programming on my part. Enjoy!

- Version 0.7 - Ooops! Found a bug, They could buy thousands of megs of ram
- on a 286, it wasn't checking their maxram stats. Fix that.
- IMPORTANT! Run 06to07 to convert the users scores over to the
- new format. If you don't, YOUR LOSS! I had to do this because
- there is a new feature now, when you buy more nodes, you have
- to wait till the next day to have them installed by the phone
- company, and you have a 1 in 10 chance that they won't be
- installed. Hehehehe, Installed the Spy feature, that was a
- nice headache, but it works now. ENJOY!

- Version 0.6 - Added a really nice Expanding thingy when sorting scores, to
- let the users know that the board isn't locked. I fixed some
- minor spelling and grammer errors. It will now announce "Big
- Buys" in the news, like if they buy the best BBS software, or
- the best CPU type. I removed a hidden backdoor that gave them
- more money.. Hehehe, Leftover from preliminary testing on the
- game. Replaced the crappy news header with a really nice one.
- Now displays the high scores when you exit. - Next Version will
- have the ability to spy on other BBS's working.

- Version 0.5 - Everything is running smoothly tonight. Changed the config
- file name from Sim-BBS.CTL to Sim-BBS.CFG. Makes more sense
- that way. Good news! I added the ability to sort the array!
- It will sort the array before displaying it now. This will
- put the players with the most subscribers at the top! You
- wouldn't believe how long I had to fight to get it to work!

- Version 0.4 - Ooops! Found a bug, They were supposed to get 20 work hours
- and 10 messages, not the other way around! Fixed that. Also
- noticed that it didn't pause after buying BBS software. Fixed.
- Felt the game needed some human conversation, so I added a
- conversation room. BTW, The Conversation unit was written by
- Laforge of CyberLand BBS @ 360-698-5571.

- Version 0.3 - Ooops! Found a bug, It was saving the ammount of RAM
- to the Hard Drive size field.. Pissed me off when I spent
- all my money on a hard drive. ;> hehe. Fixed it. Also added
- the daily news, and make announcement features. I can't
- figure out how to sort the high scores yet. I'll get back
- to it.
