- SciFanNet Rules
-
-
- Ok, there's not many rules, but here they are:
-
- 1. Profanity - I'd like to think we're all adults here (age-wise any-
- way.) So, let's try to keep it civil. That's not to say I won't
- tolerate the occaisonal curse word, but please try to contain
- yourself (and keep an eye on your users too--see rule 4).
-
- 2. No Flaming - Everyone has an opinion. You may not agree with their
- opinion, but that does not mean you need to be rude to them, or
- belittle them. I'm not opposed to a good, healthy debate, but I
- don't want it to turn into a name-calling, flame war (see also
- rule 1).
-
- 3. No Spam - No, I'm not talking about the tasty lunchmeat (if you want
- to talk about that, take it to the General Chat area). I mean the
- exceedingly off-topic messages: "Do you want to earn $5,000 a day
- without doing anything?" I get enough of those in my email in-box.
- I don't need them here.
-
- 4. Problem users - There are no moderators, so you will need to keep an
- eye on your users. If they are excessively rude, disruptive, or
- repeatedly ignore warnings, you are expected to deal with them
- (cut their access to SciFanNet or whatever). I have enough stress
- in my daily life, I would like to keep this a light, friendly
- atmosphere.
-
- 5. See rules 1-4 - If you can't follow the rules, you will be warned.
- If you are repeatedly warned, your feed will be cut, simple as
- that. This is a hobby, this is supposed to be fun. I don't want
- to deal with people who can't follow these simple rules.
-
- Well, that's that. I think I've covered all my bases here. If any
- changed are made to the rules list, I will post it on the Announcements
- conference.
