  6. Desert Designs Screen Saver

  9. Desert Designs Screen Saver has a multitude of screen saver 
  10. programs - all full screen/full color using the Desert Designs
  11. image library and with 3D graphical effects. The programs 
  12. can be set to varying speeds/effects with simple slider 
  13. controls. A detailed analog clock is also available for 
  14. all programs and can be optionally set on/off. Each image has 
  15. accompanying text - flashed up at the start of each screen 
  16. saver routine - which can be optionally set on/off.

  19. To Install

  22. If not installed already -

  24.  1. "run a:\setup.exe" if on disk or else simply "run *.exe"
  25.     if a single file (from download)

  30. To Run Desert Designs screen saver

  33. Once installed you can select the Desert Designs screen 
  34. saver for your system.

  36.     1. Select "Settings" from the main "Start" selection 
  37.        (bottom left of the screen), then select "Control 
  38.        Panel" and then select "Display" (double click) 
  39.        from "Control Panel" group.

  41.     2. Select "Screen Saver" page

  43.     3. Select the "Desert Designs" screen saver in the 
  44.        listbox (left side)
  45.  
  46.     4. Click the "Settings" button to configure to your 
  47.        own taste. Please allow a small delay the first time 
  48.        the screen saver runs/tests as the screen saver needs 
  49.        to sort out the image files.

  51.         - Clock on/off (button control)

  53.         - Speed of movement (slider control)

  58.         - choose which screen saver effect you want

  61.     5. Click the "Preview" button to view the screen saver 
  62.        with your settings.

  65. The screen saver will now run after however many minutes of 
  66. keyboard/mouse inactivity have been set in the "Wait" panel 
  67. (screen saver section).

  74. software fully operational again is a simple "registration" 
  75. number to act as a key to your unique license number - no need 
  76. to download more MB of software or pay for postage/handling.

  86. The Desert Designs Screen Saver  program allows you a free 
  87. trial period - enabling you to make a full evaluation of the 
  88. software - with the only proviso being that you can only see 
  89. 3 of the 12 images you have downloaded (the other 9 images 
  90. are already there waiting for you - you just need the 
  91. "registration" number to see them). After this trial period 
  92. the screen saver will no longer run in full operation mode - 
  93. showing only one image at a time before returning to the 
  94. original screen - rather than cycling through the image 
  95. collection.

  98. What is the License Number ? (and why you need it)

  101. Your "license" number is unique and can be easily found at 
  102. the top-left of the Desert Designs screen saver "Settings" 
  103. box or the "Register Details" box or the "About" box  - and 
  104. starts with "L..." eg  "L***-***-***" where * is a digit from 
  105. 0..9. Your "license" number requires a similarly unique 
  106. "registration" number which will be sent to you. When you 
  107. receive the "registration" number simply press the button 
  108. marked "Register" - and follow the instructions. Once 
  109. registered the Software will run indefinitely - in full 
  110. operation mode - and allow you to see all the 12 images that 
  111. you have already downloaded.

  114. How exactly to find and read the "license" number

  117. To read the "license" number:-

  119.     1. Select "Settings" from the main "Start" selection 
  120.        (bottom left of the screen), then select "Control 
  121.        Panel" and then select "Display" (double click) 
  122.        from "Control Panel" group.

  124.     2. Select "Screen Saver" tab/page.

  126.     3. Select the "Desert Designs" screen saver in the 
  127.        listbox (left side) - if  you haven't already done 
  128.        this.

  130.     4. Click the "Settings" button and read the license
  131.        at the top left of the "Settings" box

  134. How exactly to enter your "registration" number
  135. ===============================================

  137. To enter your "registration" number (received on payment) 
  138. follow the same steps 1 to 3 above and then
  139.  
  140.     4. Click the "Settings" button .
  141.     5. Click the "Register" button (How to register...)
  142.         on the left of the "Settings" box.
  143.     6. Click the "Register" button on the right of the 
  144.         "Register Details" box.
  145.     7. Enter your "registration" number, name and
  146.         company (optional).
  147.     8. Click OK

  149. Your software will then be registered and will run in full
  150. operational mode indefinitely - allowing you to see all the
  151. images.

  166. With a Windows 95 Front Shell (this includes NT4.0) use the 
  167. Add/Remove Programs facility

  169.     1. Select "Settings" from the main "Start" selection 
  170.        (bottom left of the screen), then select "Control 
  171.        Panel" and then select "Add/Remove Programs" 
  172.        (double click) from "Control Panel" group.

  174.     2. On the first tab/page - "Install/Uninstall" select
  175.        "Desert Designs" from the list and click the
  176.        "Add/Remove" button.
