  3. To install Midi Machine, simply run the SETUP.EXE file in/on the distribution
  4. media.
  5.  
  6. You can uninstall this software by choosing "Add/Remove Programs" from the
  7. Control/Panel.

  13. Welcome to Midi Machine, your all-in-one solution for managing and playing
  14. CDs, graphics, movies, and sound in one simple interface.  Midi Machine
  15. V3.1 is even more powerful, faster, and easier to use.

  17. Midi Machine plays the following files:

  19. .MID - Midi music files (and why not?  Midi Machine is named so because of
  20.        its great midi playing ability.)
  21. .RMI - Midi music files (alternate format)
  22. .WAV - Wave files, sometimes called digital audio
  23. .AU  - Sound Files
  24. .SND - Sound Files
  25. .AIF - Sound Files
  26. .MP2 - MPEG Compressed Sound Files
  27. .AVI - Audio-Video interleave files, or mini-movies
  28. .BMP - Bitmap graphic files
  29. .WMF - Window metafiles, another type of graphic file
  30. .MOV - Movie files
  31. .MPG - MPEG Movie Files
  32. .ICO - Windows icon pictures
  33. .TXT - Text files
  34. .RTF - Rich-Text Files
  35. .PCX - Another kind of graphic file
  36. .PNG - PNG graphic files, a new graphics standard that is taking the world
  37.        by storm!  Gives good compression
  38. .JPG - Jpeg images giving you high graphics compression
  39. CD-Audio tracks.

  41. Midi Machine is so intuitive that you probably will never need to read the
  42. help.  But if you do, there's lots of it!  We provide:

  44. 1) Tooltips for toolbar buttons (see instantly what they do!)
  45. 2) Context-sensitve help using the standard WinHelp engine
  46. 3) Tips of the day that give advice on harnessing Midi Machine's power
  47. 4) Technical documents describing possible problems and solutions

  67. 4+ megs ram, 8+ meg recommended.
  68. 1+ meg hard drive space, plus more for holding multimedia files
  69. A soundcard for playing mid/wav files
  70. 256 colors.
  71. 800X600 resolution if using large fonts, or 640X480 resolution if
  72.  using small fonts.
  73. MCI sound drivers for playing mid/wav files
  74. MCI video drivers for playing movies
  75.  
  76. Certain filetypes (such as .MPG and .AU) require new downloadable 
  77. drivers downloadable from Microsoft's⌐ web site.  If you have trouble 
  78. playing certain multimedia files, download and install ActiveMovie⌐ 
  79. from http://www.microsoft.com.
