  5. This MPEG implementation is covered under the GNU General Public License, so
  6. the source code for Cool Edit's MPEG implementation is available upon request.
  7. No special optimization was performed (which means it will be about 1998
  8. before Cool Edit will be able to read MPEG II files in real time with this
  9. current module on common PCs).

  11. MPEG audio data is saved without any headers, and in Intel byte ordering format.
  12. Some ShareWare (and retail) players are available that will play files saved
  13. by Cool Edit.  The Xing audio player is one of them.

  15. When built, the files MPE.FLT and MPG.FLT (in the resulting /RELEASE or
  16. /DEBUG directories) should be copied to Cool Edit's main directory.  Also the
  17. file MPEG.DAT should be copied as well since both of these file filters use
  18. this file.
