  3. The UHS readers are shareware.  If you use them beyond the trial period of
  4. 30 days or use more than 2 hint files, you must register.  As an
  5. unregistered user, you may be unable to access all of the hints contained
  6. in some UHS files.  The hint files you open should contain a more detailed
  7. explanation of which hints will not be available.  Registration will make
  8. these hints available again and provides the following benefits:

  10.  + Unlimited and unrestricted use of all available UHS hint files
  11.  + Disabling of all registration reminders, in the reader and all hint files
  12.  + Bi-monthly update subscriptions or disks full of hint files at low prices
  13.  + The ability to convert portions of any UHS file into plain text
  14.  
  15. Your registration fee will go to support work on new hint files and other
  16. UHS-related efforts.  Please send your check or money order for $20 (in US
  17. funds) to:

  26. If you are unable to afford the cost of registration, we may be able to
  27. provide a free registration to you.  Please send a fully completed
  28. registration form and briefly explain your circumstances in the comments
  29. section.  Include a SASE for reply.  Free registrations will not be handled
  30. by electronic mail.  We reserve the right to refuse any request for a free
  31. registration based on the explanation given.  Please remember that free
  32. registrations do not help the UHS, so requesting a free registration if you
  33. can afford the registration fee defeats the purpose of making these
  34. programs shareware.

  36. With your registration, you may also order a complete set of the currently
  37. available UHS hint files on 3.5" HD diskettes or a subscription to the UHS
  38. update service.  The update service includes the current hint collection,
  39. and you will receive an additional 5 updates, which should cover
  40. approximately one year.

  42. Compuserve members can also register via the SWREG service.  Register
  43. program #7948 ($24.00) for a registration code only or #7949 ($34.00 +
  44. $2.00 shipping charge to addresses outside the U.S. and Canada) if you want
  45. both a registration code and the hint collection on disks.  The higher
  46. prices are due to Compuserve's handling charges.

  48. At this time, there is no method to register via credit card.  But see the
  49. UHS WWW page at http://wcl-rs.bham.ac.uk/GamesDomain/uhs/uhs.html for any
  50. updates on credit card registration.
