  16. Las Vegas Slots PRO is an extremely realistic slot machine simulation. It is a
  17. very graphically interactive program with outstanding sound effects. Each spin
  18. allowsas much as 8 chances of winning and bets between $1 thru $24. The
  19. application will keep track of your winnings or losses and keep a running
  20. tally of your attempts. The jackpot will dynamically increases for each
  21. non-jackpot winning spin by $0.10 to $0.51 per spin depending upon the bet
  22. amount. Games in progress may be saved for later play. The program has two
  23. playing modes, normal and restrictive. The normal mode allows players to utilize
  24. the program without limitations. You can even accumulate a negative bank
  25. account. The restrictive mode places the program in a "real-life" environment.
  26. The program can be completely controlled by a single individual allowing only
  27. certain people to play, by setting-up player accounts. In this mode Players must
  28. buy spins in advance using their own personal account number. Player accounts
  29. can be set-up with credit limits and impose limitations on how much a user be in
  30. dept. It also allows users the ability to cash-in by printing their winnings or
  31. having their winning credited toward their dept. Comes with 12 different wheel
  32. designs and 16 different sound effects.

  35. Requirements:

  38. - Windows 3.x or Windows 95

  40. - VBRUN300.DLL installed in your Windows/System directory. This file may already be
  41. in your system. Many other programs require this file. You may have received it already
  42. without knowing so. Otherwise, this file can be found almost anywhere where Windows
  43. software is available for downloading. Usually titled: VBRUN301.EXE or VBRUN300.ZIP.

  46. Installation:
  47. =============
  48. In order for this application to work properly, it must be installed
  49. in a directory other than a root directory. For instance, installing it
  50. in the following directory will not be correct:  C:\   However, if it was
  51. installed into a sub-directory such as: C:\slots Then it will work fine.

  53. - Run Install.exe using the RUN option from the file menu of Windows Program Manager or 
  54. double click on the Install.exe icon from the File Manager.

  93. V2.0 would cause a "Type Mismatch" error for some people using non United Stated
  94. Versions of Windows. This problem appears to be fixed in V2.1. and above However,
  95. if you should come across this problem and are using Windows 95 or Windows 3.11
  96. you will able to set your currency setting for United States. Therefore,
  97. alleviating the problem. Here's how:
  98.  
  99. - Go to the 'Control Panel'
  100. - Load 'Regional settings' utility
  101. - Set the region to 'English (United States)'
  102. - Choose the 'Currency' option
  103.   The settings should be already configured correctly. Check to make sure the
  104.   following options are set-up:
  105. -   Currency symbol = $
  106. -   Position of Currency Symbol = *1.1
  107. -   Negative Number Format = (*1.1)
  108. -   Decimal Symbol = .
  109. -   No. of Digits After Decimal = 2

  115. I'm not sure if Windows 3.0 or 3.1 users have an ability to configure their
  116. settings to allow previous Las Vegas Slots V2.0 to function for users
  117. utilizing a non US version of Windows 3.x.

  124. - Las Vegas Slots is distributed as Shareware. The Author maintains all rights to the
  125. program in its entirety.

  127. - Las Vegas Slots may be distributed freely as long as the integrity of Shareware is
  128. maintained.

  130. - In the tradition of Shareware, the author grants a 30 day trial period to the user to
  131. decide whether they want to keep the program. If so, a $19.95 payment (Plus Shipping

  153. Here is a break-down of the difference between Shareware and Registered limitations
  154. imposed on this program. The benefits of registering this application is GREAT. See
  155. the Order Form from the Help menu for registration details:

  157. SHAREWARE USERS:
  158. 1.  You will only be allowd to choose from the first two (total = 12) wheel designs.
  159. 2.  You will only be allowd to choose from the first two (total = 6) winning sound options.
  160. 3.  You will only be allowd to choose from the first two (total = 7) losing sound options.
  161. 4.  You will only be allowed to bet between $1 and $8 ($16 and $24 bets are unavailable).
  162. 5.  You will be prompted to register by 'nag' windows set on time intervals continually
  163.     while the program is running.
  164. 6.  The upper-left area of the slot windows will continually flash 'Unregistered Copy' as
  165.     long as the program remains unregistered.
  166. 7.  Whenever you run the program or attempt to exit you will be prompted by registration
  167.     windows"

  170. 1.  You can use all 12 wheel designs, including Randomize which will select random wheels
  171.     for every spin.
  172. 2.  You can use any of the 16 sound effects, also including Randomize which will select
  173.     random sound effects for winning and losing spins.

  175. 4.  You will no longer be prompted by 'nag' screen to register the program. The program
  176.     will start and exit directly without registration prompts.
  177. 5.  The upper-left flashing sign, 'Unregistered Copy' will no longer appear.

  232. - Set-up System Administration option to allow a person to control who has
  233. access to play while in restrictive play mode. System Administration allows
  234. the controller to create user accounts and can impose credit limits on users.
  235. New users are given randomly generated access numbers which is their personal
  236. identification number (PIN). They use their PIN to buy $$$ to allow them to
  237. spin. The bank will not go below $0 in restrictive mode. To gain access to
  238. the system administration features you must use a password.

  240. - Buy and Cash-in options established for restrictive play modes.
  241.  
  242. - View Statistics has been added to show users how often each symbol position
  243. - has been comming-up, this indicates what's Hot and wha'ts Not.
  244.  
  245. - View Player Info has been added for users in restrictive play modes who can
  246. see how they are doing. It shows their winnings, dept and credit limit.

  248. -  Disabled many features while in restrictive play mode. users in this mode
  249. cannot simple exit the application or use "Auto-Spin" features. They cannot
  250. save a game or recall a game or restart a new game, and they cannot reset
  251. the jackpot. This mode puts players at the mercy of the System Administrative
  252. controller(s).

  256. - Set the jackpot to start at a minimum of $4000 instead of $2000.

  264. - Added the 'Refresh' option to redreaw the screen. This is useful to
  265. eliminate the automatic highlighting on winning spins.

  268. program in a normal manner. The next time they load the program their
  269. previous settings will be set. This affects sounds, bet and wheel type.

  271. - Added $16 and $24 bet values. $16 bets will essentially double the winnings
  272. from the $8 bet while the $24 bet will triple the winnings. However, the bet
  273. costs are doubled and tripled. The $16 and $24 bets are also jackpot
  274. eligible like the $8 bet.

  280. - Fixed a small bug where counters could not go above 33,000. If this occured
  281. an error would occur and the program would unload. To fix the problem the user
  282. only needed to select RESET. Now counters can go above 2 billion each.

  284. - Fixed a bug where an alert stating "Type Mismatch" would occur for some users who
  285. use non United States versions of Windows. Due to currency differences the program
  286. would not be able to compute winnings/losses. Therefore, it would alert
  287. the users. Now, the problem is fixed.

  293. - Fixed a small bug in v2.1. The Autospin feature was not reset from testing mode.
  294. Autospin did not work correctly in v2.1. The wheels would continue turning without
  295. a stoppage between spins. Now, it runs as it should.

  301. - Added 10 new wheel designs that may be selected, bringing the total to 15

  317. the application. The EXE is larger than in previous versions because of this

  321. disappear when other windows would appear on-top of them. Now, the wheels designs
  322. will continually appear. The only exception is entering or leaving restrictive
  323. play mode, you may still see the wheels designs temporarily disappear.
