  7. What's new since 4.0

  10. - All previous patches included.
  11. - Fics 'seek' command dialog.
  12. - Fics automatically rotates board when starting game.
  13. - When playing on fics whith engine, it kibitz welcome.
  14. - Winboard adapter to make use of winboard compatible
  15.   engines.
  16. - New levels with fixed time per move.
  17. - PGN import/export now supports variations.
  18. - Score display now uses regional settings for display
  19.   of decimal point.
  20. - Support for timestamp or timeseal program.
  21. - View|Select Clock now saves the last folder or goes
  22.   to the default Clock Folder (like Select Piece Set
  23.   currently does).
  24. - Save player/player mode.
  25. - If playing with different engine, new game fills in
  26.   player name.
  27. - Can now paste EPD/FEN format positions from clipboard.
  28. - New option to run engine on low priority so you can
  29.   use your PC to get some 'real' work done.

  32. Bugs fixed

  35. - When a game contains more than 400 moves, then
  36.   when CP4 is exited and reloaded the CP4 crashes
  37.   during starting. Recovery was deleting the LCHSGAME.GME
  38.   file.
  39. - Fixed bug where draw game result is not displayed, bug
  40.   introduced in update2.
  41. - Re-indexing database with corrupt game causes gpf.
  42. - The fixes from the updates 1 to 3.

  45. Installation issues
  46. ----------------------------------------------------------------------

  48. - If you already have version 4.0 installed, you can just
  49.   install this version in the same directory. Your settings
  50.   will be preserved. If you are a registered user, your
  51.   registration information is also preserved.
  52.  
  53. - A number of installation issues have been solved, only in
  54.   some occassions you may need to download some 
  55.   additional files.
  56.   If the program crashes when you select the Options
  57.   function from the Extra menu, then download and
  58.   install the 40comupd.exe file from our website. 
  59.   If you got an error in the Oleaut32.dll or in the
  60.   olepro32.dll you have to download and install the
  61.   dcom95.exe file.
  62.   We did not include thes files in the installation
  63.   package to reduce the download size.

  77. Timeseal and timestamp information.
  78. ----------------------------------------------------------------------
  79. - Included are the timeseal and timestamp programs, the
  80.   timeseal is for use with the FICS servers, the
  81.   timestamp for use with the ICC server. Default the
  82.   timeseal program is used, if you want to use the timestamp
  83.   program you have to configure this in the Internet Console
  84.   properies for that specific server.
  85.   Both programs are installed in the timestamp sub-directory.
  86.   These programs are not made by lokasoft, but only 
  87.   distributed. No guaranty of their proper functioning is
  88.   given. The timeseal and timestamp programs are freeware.

  91. Winboard adapter.

  93. - The Winboard adapter module allows the use of winboard
  94.   compatible chess engines with ChessPartner 4.1

  109. - The installation contains a application to convert and
  110.   merge databases.
  111.   Start the program from a DOS prompt:
  112.   Usage:
  113.     BATCHCVT [options] indatabase outdatabase
  114.     Options:  /s - traverse sub directories
  115.     indatabase - input database(s) wildcards allowed
  116.     outdatabase - output database, must exist
  117.     e.g. BATCHCVT /s *.PGN BIG.LDB
  118.     this command convers all PGN databases into one big
  119.     ChessPartner database
