- MagicWB Prefs-Dock-Images
- -------------------------
-
- In this directory you can find the Prefs-Icons as Dock-Images for the
- use with ToolManager (from Stefan Becker) or any other toolmanager-like
- program supporting Docks.
-
- Using brushes for this Dock instead of directly loading the Prefs-Icons
- from SYS:Prefs will both save precious chip memory and reduce the time of
- loading this dock.
-
- Example: The Prefs-Dock with Icons would need 65 KB (!) of memory and
- would take 5 (!) times longer to be loaded at booting time.
-
- The actual solution with brushes will only allocate 13 KB of memory and is
- 5 times faster.
-
- You can save a lot of time by appending the Demo-Dock 'MWBPrefs-Dock' in
- this directory to your actual ToolManager-Prefs. This Dock already includes
- all image-objects, the dock-definition AND the Exec-Objects! You won't have
- to do anything! Just APPEND this Dock to your TM-Configuration.
-
- You may want to change some settings of the Dock (i.e. hotkey, arrangement,
- dock handling etc.). You also could use the facility of activating this
- Dock with a click on the Prefs-Image of the general purpose Dock-Images in
- the parent directory. How to activate a Dock from another Dock is explained in
- the accompanying documentation of ToolManager2.1. My suggestion would be to
- have this Prefs-Dock hidden after running ToolManager, and have it popup by
- either pressing the hotkey or by pressing the Prefs-Image of the main Dock.
- To achieve this you will just have to DEACTIVATE the "Activated"-Checkmark
- of the supplied Prefs-Demo-Dock as I activated it for demonstration purposes.
-
- To make this facility possible, you will first have to copy the whole Prefs-
- Brushes *DRAWER* to the directory where you have also copied the main
- MagicWB-Dock-Images. Note that the Prefs-Images must be located in the
- drawer 'PrefsBrushes' WITHIN the drawer where the main Dock-Images are. If
- not it will not work with the supplied configuration.
-
- Much fun with MagicWB!
