-
- ±b3 WITH A DISKETTE!×

- ±42Written by Dolphin/Stone Arts
-
- ±21Please start by stating your age, and
- suply us with some facts about your
- birth, for instance at which factory
- you were born.
-
- ±22- I'm probably one of the oldest,
- still working, diskette's in the
- world. I'm of a rare, high-quality
- brand, with very high density and
- lifetime-warranty. I saw the light of
- day at an assembly-line in Seoul,
- South-Korea, in the year of 1988.
- ±21How do you look upon yourself,
- compared to for instance a NoNamed
- "bulk" diskette?
-
- ±22- Well, one can actually make a
- comparison with the "levels" of
- society in with humans live. A
- HD-SONY-double density diskette with
- lifetime-warranty such as myself,
- could easily be compared with a
- wealthy person in the overclass. The
- NoNamed "bulk"'s as you say, are of a
- much poorer quality, with a lifetime
- limited to only a few formates. Some
- are even born dead(!) They reflect the
- living quality of a drunk, poor and in
- some cases dead, person living in the
- gutter.
-
- ±21I understand that during your very
- eventfull life you have contained
- numerous different variations of
- binary-codes. What is your personal
- relationship with these figures, and
- have you any special favourite
- combinations?
-
- ±22- I have a very strong relationship
- with the contents of mine, of course!
- Personally, I like the first
- combination I ever wore. It was a
- combination which, when dechiffered by
- the Amiga 500, resulted in a classic
- demo from Scoopex entitled Mental
- Hangover. Due to the extreme quality
- (at that time) this demo reflected, I
- actually carried that combination for
- two years! One of the reasons why I
- have never bugged and made error's is
- that I have been honoured by always
- carrying quality bytes in my tracks.
- The fact that I'm a
- "lifetime-warranty" disk is only a
- gimmic by the producers to sell more
- of us. If a disk is being written
- with bytes from a lousy demo, or game,
- or utility for that matter, it may
- very well commit suicide!
-
- ±21Have you ever experienced lethal
- accidents, such loss of your shutter,
- dust or dirt at your magnetfield or
- other physcical damages?
-
- ±22- Yes, I remember one time in
- particular. I was working as a
- swap-disk for a guy who swapped a lot.
- In order to buy fewer stamps he
- disabled me and my brothers by
- removing our shutters. Luckily, his
- contact who recieved me fixed me by
- conducting a rescue-operation. I'm
- now wearing a protese!
-
- ±21What's your relationship with
- diskdrives? Do you favour one
- load-system more than another, e.g
- track-loaders before normal
- dos-loaders?
-
- ±22- Over the years some loaders have
- really pissed me off. Some ignorant
- coders have made trackloaders who are
- very uncomfortable for me. Normally,
- I feel a sensation when the
- diskdrive-pickup steps from track to
- track, but with some of the bad
- trackloader-systems I get deep
- scratches and marks all over. This
- will eventually kill me! ±33 -End.
