  16.                    Integrated Communications Solutions

  19.      SKOKIE, Ill. -- May 2, 1995 -- The Personal Communications Division of
  20.      U.S. Robotics (NASDAQ:USRX) today announced four new Sportster
  21.      products that bring professional office message center capability to
  22.      the small office.
  23.  
  24.      The Sportster Vi  product line will include external and internal V.32
  25.      bis and V.34 Faxmodems. All four models integrate the capabilities of
  26.      a high-speed modem, fax machine and digital answering machine into a
  27.      single, compact device.  The VoiceView protocol (alternating voice and
  28.      data over a single telephone line) from Radish Communications Systems
  29.      is also incorporated into all four models.

  31.      "Our Sportster Vi products are designed to meet the data, fax and
  32.      voice communications needs of the burgeoning small office and home
  33.      office environment," said Michael Seedman, vice president and general
  34.      manager of U.S. Robotics' Personal Communications Division.  "We've
  35.      incorporated all these functions into a single device that offers the
  36.      customer an affordable, reliable voice and data communications
  37.      solution."

  39.      The Sportster Vi products provide the full fax and data capabilities
  40.      of a Sportster modem in addition to personal voice mail with multiple
  41.      mailboxes, remote voice message and fax retrieval capabilities, fax on
  42.      demand, caller ID and call discrimination.

  44.      The Sportster Vi 14.4 internal and external versions will begin
  45.      shipping during the second calendar quarter of 1995.  List prices for
  46.      the Sportster Vi 14.4 models are $149 for the internal and $179 for
  47.      the external.   The Sportster Vi 28.8 models will begin shipping later
  48.      in the second quarter of 1995.  List price is $339 for the Sportster
  49.      Vi 28.8 internal.  List price for the Sportster Vi 28.8 external will
  50.      be announced at a later date.
