  1. Pixar Typestry Windows Demo - ReadMe file - August 1994

  4. Welcome to the world of Pixar and Typestry for Windows. 
  5. We hope that you enjoy the experience!
  6.  
  7. Installation
  8. ------------
  9.  
  10. To install this version of the Typestry Windows Demo, just
  11. run PIXSETUP.EXE. You can do this by double-clicking it from
  12. the File Manager, or using RUN from the Program Manager. 
  13.  
  14. Once it's running, it asks you for two locations for files. 
  15. The first is where to place the Pixar system files, needed
  16. to run Typestry. Usually this is the PIXAR directory, and the 
  17. default drive is C:. Pixar recommends that the directory remain
  18. PIXAR, but you can locate the files on any drive.

  20. The second location requested is where you'd like to install 
  21. the Typestry Windows Demo application itself. The default is
  22. TYPEDEMO, in the PIXAR directory.

  24. Once these default locations have been selected, select the 
  25. CONTINUE button, and the installation will proceed. At the
  26. conclusion of the installation, a PIXAR Program Group is 
  27. created, and the Typestry Demo icon is created. After the 
  28. installation is complete, just double-click the Typestry 
  29. Demo icon in the PIXAR group, and you're up and running.

  31. This is a DEMO
  32. --------------

  34. This is a demo version of the Typestry Windows 1.1 application,
  35. and as such, some of the things that you would normally be able 
  36. to do have been disabled. In this demo version, the only text 
  37. that you can create is the word 'Pixar'. You can choose any font
  38. that you have installed in your system to create it from though.
  39. You can not render these images to a file, only to the screen. 
  40. You can not create an animation in the demo version, but you 
  41. can define the animation steps as you in the standard program,
  42. so you can see how it's done.
