- Update report of TbRescue.
-
-
- 1.9
- ---
- Only a few people discovered our -immunize option (create anti-virus
- partition table). Try it! It is the most important feature of TbRescue!
-
- Removed the attempt to identify the machine by checking the BIOS
- contents. This did not work very well on machines with UMB's in the
- BIOS area.
-
- To check the owner of the TbRescue data file we added the possibility
- to add a user configurable machine comment into the data file.
- This should prevent the user to restore a machine with a data file
- that belongs to another PC.
-
- TbRescue now checks the data file for the correct format and TbRescue
- version number.
-
- TbRescue is now able to reconstruct a destroyed partition table even
- without rescue data file! However, creation of a rescue data file
- and the anti-virus partition code is still recommended.
-
- The TbRescue file now consumes less disk space.
-
-
- 1.8
- ---
- Released directly after 1.7, which still carried a bug in the command
- line parser.
-
-
- 1.7
- ---
- Solved an error in the command line parser, which searched for option
- -save instead of -store.
-
-
- 1.6
- ---
- Modified the program to get a better cooperation with the Thunderbyte
- hardware PC immunizer.
-
- If TbRescue thinks that the data file does not belong to the current PC
- the user can now force TbRescue to continue. This can be necessary if
- the PC has a ROM remapper installed.
-
-
- 1.5
- ---
- Enhanced the anti-virus partition code. The partition code will now also
- check that Int 13h points to ROM code. If it points to RAM, it is likely
- that a resident virus is active, and the partition code will warn you
- for this.
-
-
- 1.4
- ---
- TbRescue has been converted to an .EXE file! Remove all your TbRescue.Com
- files, because if DOS finds them it will execute the .COM file instead of
- the .EXE file!
-
- Added the -I (immunize) option. If you specify this option TbRescue will
- convert the partition table to a table with some virus resistance built
- in. This option can also be used to clean an infected partition table
- without using a rescue data file.
-
- TbRescue now also backups and restores the CMOS data area.
-
-
- 1.3
- ---
- Added an option to immunize the partition table. This version was only
- developed to solve someone's virus problem, and has never been released
- into the public.
-
-
- 1.2
- ---
- Previous versions of TbRescue had some problems reading the disk
- information on some systems. Solved.
-
-
- 1.1
- ---
- TbRescue 1.0 created .Dat files with the read-only attribute set. Now
- you have to set the read-only attribute yourself if you want to write
- protect TbRescue.Dat.
-
-
- 1.0
- ---
- Initial release of TbRescue.
