  14.      This is the translated version of an article in an Indonesian
  15.      Computer Magazine, as I noted in a posting of VIRUS-L edition
  16.      Friday, August 31, 1990 about mysterious message.  In the
  17.      magazine, also shown the picture of the author of SEMLOHE AND
  18.      KEONGZ virus.  No more information I have instead of this one.

  22.                         INDONESIAN VIRUS

  25.      * HACKER
  26.        Hacker is come from Bandung, Indonesia.  A rectangle will
  27.        appear from a line and then it will become bigger horizontally.
  28.        Inside the rectangle, written Bandung and the author, Hacker.
  29.        There is no damage from this virus.
  30.  
  31.      * DENZUKO
  32.        With a nice graphic, come from left and right, the computer
  33.        write DENZUKO in the monitor screen.  The author of this virus
  34.        is the same with HACKER.  Those 2 viruses are the cause of
  35.        boot-sector viruses in Indonesia.  No damage come from this
  36.        virus.  From these viruses come many modification.
  37.        Modification usually made on the graphics which is uniqe.  And
  38.        also there is a program which will change the graphic DENZUKO
  39.        into the graphics you would like to be.

  41.      * PC CLUB
  42.        With a different technique, without warm-boot (ctrl-alt- del),
  43.        a message will appear every 30 minutes.  To eliminate this
  44.        virus is using SYS command.  No major damage caused by this
  45.        virus.

  47.      * MARDI BROS
  48.        Is a boot-sector virus and appear by warm-boot.  This virus
  49.        made from a University in Jakarta, Indonesia.  There may be
  50.        another version of this virus which will damage hard- disk.

  52.      * AREMA
  53.        This virus is come from Malang, Indonesia.  AREMA is an
  54.        abbreviation of "Arek-Arek Malang" or in English mean "People
  55.        of Malang."  No clear idea who made this virus, but it seems
  56.        that this virus is a modification of DENZUKO.

  58.      * SEMLOHE and KEONGZ
  59.        This virus once grow very fast in East Java, Indonesia.  The
  60.        author, Sigit Wasista, live in Surabaya, Indonesia said that
  61.        this virus made only for experiment only.  After there are
  62.        CBrain, Hacker, and Denzuko viruses, Sigit tried to view and
  63.        analyize those viruses and add background song when the viruses
  64.        come and finally SEMLOHE AND KEONGZ created.

  66.      * PC MONSTAR
  67.        PC MONSTAR virus made by Handiyanto, a student of one
  68.        University in Indonesia in computer major.  TOETOE RULIANDA
  69.        also from one University in Indonesia with the same major.
  70.        This virus grow in East Java, and it has the same style and
  71.        appearnace looks like Denzuko

  73.      * ROBERT/NARWIN
  74.        This virus using the same method as PC CLUB.  But it is using
  75.        graphics instead of text.  The letters that appear looks like
  76.        Japanese character (Katakana), so it is called Japan Virus

  78.      * SUPERNOVA
  79.        The author Fen Tjin, a student from a university in Jakarta,
  80.        Indonesia.  This is the first local virus that made some
  81.        damages, reformat the diskette.  This virus will format the
  82.        diskette when there is instruction to print to the printer.
  83.        And there will be message in the printer, and then it stop.

  85.      * FREDDY
  86.        Freddy was made by one of a student in a academy of computer in
  87.        Indonesia.  It infected the program, not a boot sector virus.
  88.        The program infected is IBMBIO.COM The characteristic of this
  89.        virus is the appearance of FREDDY in a box.
  90.  
  91.      * AMOEBA
  92.        This is a .COM and .EXE virus.  This virus infect when using
  93.        disk access, such as copy, dir, etc.  When "DIR" command is
  94.        instructed, the virus will search for COMMAND.COM and if that
  95.        file is free of virus, it will infect.  When it is active, it
  96.        will appear a message "SMA KHETAPUNK - NOUVEL Band A.M.O.E.B.A.
  97.        by PrimeSoft Inc."  This message only appear on CGA.  "SMA
  98.        KHETAPHUNK" is an Indonesian Senior High School, the name of
  99.        the school is "SMA KETAPANG."

  101.      * MYSTIK
  102.        This virus will infect .EXE and .COM file.  To find out if a
  103.        file is infected, we can use "TYPE" command to one of the file
  104.        that is suspected.  If we did it, the message "- MYSTIC -
  105.        COPYRIGHT (C) 1989 - 2000 by SsAsMsUsEsL" This is a new virus
  106.        and there is no vaccine.  The author, Samuel, this year, he
  107.        just graduated from Senior High School.  He is working in one
  108.        of the center of Computer business in Jakarta, Indonesia.
