  57.   have trouble loading HyperDisk high try this option.

  131. Users of Future Domaine SCSI disk systems:
  132.  
  133. Future Domaine uses an atypical disk partition organization. If you are using
  134. a Future Domaine SCSI controller and have problems with HyperDisk you should
  135. contact Hyperware's technical support. HyperDisk will cache these systems but
  136. must be manually configured to operate correctly. If you can not contact
  137. HyperWare you may configure the system yourself if you know the number of
  138. sectors per track and the number of heads. Backup your system fully before
  139. tring anything. To manually configure HyperDisk use the following command 
  140. syntax:
  141.  
  142.     /H:d:ss:hh:cc
  143.  
  144. Where   d  is the physical drive number, beginning with zero (0).
  145.        ss  is the number of sectors per track.
  146.        hh  is the number of heads.
  147.        cc  is the first cylinder to begin caching (should be 0).
  148.  
  149.  
  150. Please take great care to set these values correctly, there are no saftey
  151. checks. For drives with more than 1024 cylinders Future Domaine's SCSI
  152. controller increase the number of logical heads. Therefore the drives
  153. physical parmeters may be meaningless in determining the logical drive
  154. parameters (sometimes called translated).
  155.  
  156. Then next release will address the Future Domaine SCSI problems automaticlly.

  161.   Windows 3.0/386 aware version:

  163. * Now HyperDisk can release memory in the same manner as SmartDrv, reducing
  164. the cache size when Win3 loads in Enhanced mode.  Syntax is C:NNNN:nnnn,
  165. where NNNN is cache size outside of Win3 and nnnn is cache size to use with
  166. Win3.  You may also use HYPERDK CW:nnnn from the DOS command line to set
  167. the size of cache to use while in Windows. (You must be using XMS memory to
  168. use this feature, and you must load Windows with the /3 parameter.)

  194. "Load High" Users:  Packed File Corrupt Error!
  195.  
  196. If you encounter this error you should select the OG option when you install 
  197. HyperDisk. Microsoft's EXEPACK program, used to compress executable program
  198. files, has a bug that causes this error. To make these applications safe for 
  199. programs using XMS High Memory Area (HMA) obtain a copy of LZEXE to unpack 
  200. the application program and then optionally repack the application. If you
  201. have trouble finding a copy you can download a copy from HyperWare's BBS at 
  202. (408)-683-4988. Look for LZEXENG.ZIP or LZEXEFR.ZIP in file section 9. Also, 
  203. please beware that some programs that have been packed using EXEPACK have been
  204. post-processed and can not be unpacked using the UNPACKER; for these you will
  205. have to contact the product producer and request an non-packed version.
  206. LZEXE is a great FREEWARE program by Fabrice Bellard, Grabels, France.

  238.   proceeded by three beeps and the following message:

  240.     HyperDisk Error......... RShft: Retry=LShft Skip=Ctrl Abort=Alt?

  242.   You can enter: R or <RShift><LShift> for RETRY; S or <LShift><Ctrl>
  243.   for SKIP; A or <RShift><Alt> for ABORT.  If no response is entered 
  244.   within four seconds a RETRY is automaticlly entered for you.

  246. * Staged write error handling has been enhanced. If a disk write update
  247.   fails, each sector is written and verified one-by-one. This insures the
  248.   minimum loss of data if the disk surface has developed a bad spot. Hard
  249.   errors are then helt in the cache until all of the writable updates are
  250.   completed; then the errors are retried and if still failing the error is
  251.   displayed and the user is prompted for the appropriate action.

  294.    you may load HyperDisk directly in upper memory (above 640K)!

  298.    Chips and Technologies Shadow Ram users:

  300.    If you are using an EMS system that does not support XMS's Upper Memory
  301.    Blocks (UMBs) such as EMMSYS, Windows 3.0 Intel 4.0 EMS, AST EEMS, etc.
  302.    You will need to EXCLUDE the last part of the E000 segment of memory.
  303.    Load HyperDisk first with the XS option set, examine the report panel
  304.    to (second section of the report panel) find where HyperDisk is loaded.
  305.    Next, edit your EMS device installation command line and exclude the
  306.    area from use by your EMS manager. See your EMS product installation
  307.    guide for details on excluding areas from EMS use.

  309.    Note: Qualitas' 386MAX 4.04+ and Quarterdeck's QEMM 5.0+ directly 
  310.    support XMS UMB's and require no special procedures when installing
  311.    HyperDisk with these products.

  317.    A new program module HYPERSTB.EXE has been added to the HyperDisk
  318.    package.  This program allows you to install and later uninstall
  319.    HyperDisk easily and without conflict with other resident programs.
  320.    Install HYPERSTB.EXE in either your CONFIG.SYS or AUTOEXEC.BAT
  321.    files (normally in the same place as you would place the HyperDisk 
  322.    install statement). Later, either near the end of the AUTOEXEC.BAT
  323.    or from the command line you may install HyperDisk. HYPERSTB's function
  324.    is to reserve the resources for HyperDisk, preventing other resident
  325.    programs installed later from conflicting with HyperDisk. HYPERSTB
  326.    requires approximately 400 bytes!
