- Hi there; the second is the manual which Mike left out of the file! I'll get
- the info you requested, actually I'll forward the message to Mike and let him
- reply, but here is what it does:
-
- It's like Shez or Arcmaster, combined with several of the functions of e.g.
- Fido-Fam. It can be set up for Opus 1.03, 1.1x, Max, and one other BBS, which
- escapes me. It has sysop functions, allowing it to, using
- files.bbs/areas.dat, let you change paths with a "arrow-key down to the area
- you want to go to"; allows the sysop to view inside archives, including
- self-extracting, to read docs inside them, and modify the files.bbs. (I use
- it pretty exclusively for files description maintenance
- -- with over 4,000 files here, it used to be a real hastle when I would
- either trash my files.bbs or I'd get a 2 meg zip w/ many files inside but no
- descriptions, etc. Arcaid is REAL good for those situations.) The sysop
- features allow hurling/moving files, describing them; reading or deleting or
- modifying docs inside archives. Support for arc, zip, pak, lzh, including
- self-extracting. Written in C with (I understand) Smedley's routines
- throughout (This is from Mike -- believe me, a programmer I am NOT!) Check it
- out -- you might be impressed! Anyway, I will have Mike supply the info he
- thinks appropriate to answer your questions. While I sure haven't abandoned
- Fido-fam, I have a much easier time in giving files descriptions, together
- with the functions expected of a Shez/Arcmaster-stype archiving shell.
- Thanks for your quick reply. I know Mike will appreciate it.
