  28.   The Expert Help Demo is full featured version of the Expert Help 
  29.   Engine with one exception, It will only run for 20 minutes at a time.
  30.   After 20 minutes it will pop-down the display and unload itself from
  31.   memory. The Expert Help Hypertext System (Personal Use Version) is

  58. Installing the Expert Help Engine:
  59.   The Expert Help files should be copied to the directory EH or
  60.   the directory where you keep your Expert Help /Norton Guides 
  61.   Databases. When running, this will become the default directory 
  62.   where the Expert Help Engine will look for databases. 
  63.   For optimal performance, run the Expert Help Engine from a Hard Drive.

  65. To install Expert Help, 
  66.   put the Expert Help disk in a floppy drive A and type,
  67.  
  68.             COPY A: *.*  C:\EH (press ENTER).
  69.  
  70. Where A is the name of the floppy drive where the Expert Help 
  71. diskette is located.
  72.  
  73. By default the Expert Help Engine will look for EMS and use it when available.
  74. Since there are at times, conflicts among TSR's we suggest that you load EH
  75. into conventional memory first, with the -C parameter as shown below. Once 
  76. you are comfortable with Expert Help you can run it in EMS. If you do decide
  77. to run EH in EMS, make sure that you remove the /X parameter from your 
  78. BUFFERS line in your config.sys. 
  79.        Example. 
  80.                   BUFFERS = 20/X

  86. This is needed because the /X parameter causes a conflict when EH is run from
  87. Exapnded Memory.

  91. Running the Engine:
  92.             Type,  EH -C (press enter)
  93.  
  94. There are currently seven command line parameters that can be used 
  95. when loading the Engine.
  96.  
  97.     -C          Loads the Engine into Conventional Memory.
  98.  
  99.     -N        Loads the Engine in non-memory-resident mode.
  100.  
  101.     -Ffilename     Lets you specify a database to load at start-up. 
  102.                 (This lets you override the default file.)
  103.  
  104.     -U          Un-Loads the Engine from memory-resident mode.
  105.          You can also use ALT-U while the text display window is 
  106.                 popped-up.
  107.  
  108.     -H        Displays a help screen of command line parameters.
  109.  
  110.     -I          Enables Intense Background Colors.
  111.  
  112.     -Mnn        Sets the sensitivity (to motion) of the mouse. 
  113.                 Range 1-99. Default: 12 (smaller number increases sens.)

  116. The current Hot-Key is LEFT-SHIFT-F1.
  117.  
  118.   Unloading the Engine:
  119.     Pop-up the display using LEFT-SHIFT-F1, then press ALT-U. This will 
  120.     unload the Engine from memory. Note: The Engine will only unload if 
  121.     it is safe to do so (Example - No TSR's loaded after the Engine.)

  124. Keys that Navigate the Text Display Window.
  125. ----------------------------------------------------------------------
  126.   When popped-up, the Text Display Window of the Search Engine can be 
  127.   manipulated with the following keys:
  128.  
  129.   LEFT-SHIFT-F1  This is the default Hot-Key that pops-Up/Dn the display window.
  130.  
  131.   F1  Options menu \ Help screen for the Search Engine.
  132.  
  133.   F9  Toggles the display size (half/full screen).
  134.  
  135.   ENTER  Selects the highlighted item.
  136.  
  137.   E  Expands from the first level menu highlight to a more detailed 
  138.      explanation of the highlighted keyword.
  139.  
  140.   R  Opens the Related Topics menu (if they exists for the selected entry). 
  141.      E and Enter can also be used.
  142.  
  143.   Gray +  Moves from the current long entry to the next long entry.
  144.  
  145.   Gray -  Moves from the current long entry to the previous long entry.

  147.   ESC  If in the second level, <ESC> will display the first level. 
  148.        If in the first level, <ESC> pops-down the display and returns 
  149.        you to your work.

  151.   Up Arrow  Moves the lightbar menu highlight up.

  153.   Down Arrow  Moves the lightbar menu highlight down.

  155.   Right Arrow  Moves the pull down menu lightbar to the right.

  157.   Left Arrow  Moves the pull down menu lightbar to the left.

  159.   Shift Up Arrow  In half screen mode, moves the display window up.

  161.   Shift Down Arrow  In half screen mode, moves the display window down.

  163.   F10  Returns you to your work. The display will pop-up where you left off.

  165.   Alt-L  Toggles Auto-Lookup On / Off.

  167.   Alt-S  Opens the search window.

  169.   Alt-N  or Alt-A  Continues the search for the next match.

  171.   Alt-I  Returns you to your work. But leaves an image of the display.

  173.   Alt-D  Open the file selection window. Press Enter to select, Esc to close.

  175.   Alt-U  Unloads the Engine from memory.

  177.   Alt-C  Activates the Cut and Paste Routine.

  188.   Note: Any menu or menu item can be selected by typing the first letter 
  189.         of the entry that you want to open. If more than entry has the same 
  190.         first letter, the first one is selected with the specified letter.

  193.         Options Menu (Press F1).
