-
- Release 5 Notes:
-
- This disk or archive includes all the files necessary to run The
- Cambridge Thoroughbred Handicapper Version 5.
-
- We know you're anxious to get started, but we strongly recommend
- that you print and read the instruction manual first. It contains
- important information about setting up your computer and data
- files.
-
- To print the instruction manual, type PRINTME and hit ENTER.
-
- The program requires a computer with 512K of memory. Please be
- sure to read the section on Memory Management on Page 35 of the
- instruction manual, particularly if you have a 512K machine.
-
- The program also requires that you have a CONFIG.SYS file on your
- startup disk that allocates 20 files and 20 buffers. If you get
- an error message that says, "Too many files open," you'll have to
- change the CONFIG.SYS file. See the CONFIG.SYS chapter starting
- on Page 5 of the manual.
-
- To install the program on a hard drive, copy all the files from
- this disk to a directory on your hard drive. Switch to that
- directory. Then type THORO5 and hit ENTER to run the program.
-
- To install the program on a system with two floppy drives, see
- Page 3 of the instruction manual.
-
- If you've used earlier version of our handicapper, please note
- that Version 5 runs only in Monochrome mode.
