  2.                            IMPORTANT NOTICE
  3.                        ************************
  4.              Before running 1st&Goal for the first time, make sure that 
  5.         you are familiar with the contents of this file.
  6.  
  7.              1st&Goal  requires the following  minumum  requirements:
  8.              
  9.              720 KB OF FREE DISK SPACE. This can be free space on
  10.         a  hard disk, two 360 kb 5.25 inch disk  drives,  1 
  11.         3.5 inch disk drive, or one 1.2 meg or one 1.44 meg 
  12.         disk drive.
  13.  
  14.              A COLOR MONITOR. This can be CGA, EGA or VGA.
  15.  
  16.              YOU MUST HAVE THE FOLLOWING STATEMENTS IN THE CONFIG.SYS
  17.         FILE ON YOUR BOOT DISK OR THE ROOT DIRECTORY OF YOUR HARD DISK:
  18.                       FILES = 10
  19.                       BUFFERS = 25
  20.              These are minumum requirements. If the number of Files and 
  21.         Buffers specified in your config.sys exceeds these numbers that's 
  22.         fine. If you don't have enough files it is a simple procedure to 
  23.         add the above statements to your CONFIG.SYS file. Simply load your
  24.         current CONFIG.SYS file (found in the root directory of your
  25.         hard disk or boot-up diskette) into your favorite word
  26.         processor and add the above lines. MAKE SURE YOU SAVE THE FILE
  27.         IN THE ASCII FORMAT (there will be instructions on saving an
  28.         ASCII file in your word processor documentation). DOS 5 users can 
  29.         use the EDIT program that came with DOS 5. EDIT automatically saves
  30.         in the ASCII format.
  31.              We have recently added a graphic opening screen to 1st&Goal.
  32.         This screen has been tested on SVGA, VGA, and CGA monitors and has
  33.         found to be compatible with all of them. Should you get an ERROR 5
  34.         on starting the program it may be that this screen is not compatible
  35.         with your monitor. To solve this problem remove the file title.scn
  36.         from the disk/directory (type del title.scn).

  38.              1st&Goal Fantasy Football (hereafter referred to as 1st&Goal) 
  39.         is copyrighted software - it is not now and never has been in the
  40.         public domain.
  41.              Every release of 1st&Goal comes in two versions, the ShareWare 
  42.         or Evaluation Version and the Registered Version.
  43.              The ShareWare Version of 1st&Goal is intended for evaluation 
  44.         purposes. The ShareWare Version is fully enabled so that all areas 
  45.         of the program may be tested. Registered owners get laser printed
  46.         documentation and a free copy of the program 1st&Goal General
  47.         Manager which makes player trades and allows you to sign free agents.

  49.              Before running 1st&Goal make sure that the following files are 
  50.         in the drive/directory that you will start the program from:
  51.              1st.bat (the batch file that calls 1st&Goal)
  52.              1st&goal.exe   (1st&Goal the program)
  53.              1st.hlp   (the help file)
  54.              1st&Goal.doc   (the manual)
  55.              Setup.exe (the installation program)
  56.              Talent.nfl  (file containing NFL team names)
  57.              Talent.cfl  (file containing CFL team names)
  58.              Title.scn
  59.              QBAG.DAT (data file)
  60.              GM.EXE (registered version only - the General Manager's program)
  61.              
  62.             The ShareWare Version of 1st&Goal may be copied and distributed 
  63.    to others subject to the following conditions:
  64.             No charge may be made for 1st&Goal itself. Any fees collected for
  65.       the sale of diskettes containing 1st&Goal must be clearly stated as
  66.       being for materials and/or handling charges. The cost of the disk
  67.       containing 1st&Goal may not exceed $15.00.
  68.            All files included on the original distribution disk must be included
  69.       when the program is distributed or "uploaded" to a "bulletin board".

  81.            McS Custom Software reserves the right to prohibit certain
  82.       individuals or companies form distributing 1st&Goal. If we chose to
  83.       excercise this right the individuals or companies will be notified by
  84.       certified letter.

  87.    Before installing this or ANY new software, you should back up any
  88.    valuable data on your computer system. 1st&Goal has been thoroughly
  89.    tested on different systems and is believed to be reliable and
  90.    non-harmful. However, no one can ever be totally sure of the effect
  91.    a program will have on every computer. You as the user are completely
  92.    responsible for determining the fitness or usability of 1st&Goal
  93.    Fantasy Football. MCS Custom Software will not be liable for damages 
  94.    of any kind, including but not limited to lost sales or profits
  95.    arising from any failure of this package to perform as expected.

  98.    1st&Goal's registration price is $35.00. Registered users get the latest
  99.    release of the registered version of 1st&Goal. In addition you will   
  100.    receive the lastest version of the 1st&Goal GENERAL MANAGER'S DISK which
  101.    allows you to trade players or sign free agents. You will also be entitled 
  102.    to any upgrades of 1st&Goal without charge other than disk and postage
  103.    costs. MCS feels a real obligation to provide top flight service to our
  104.    registered users. If you have a need for an enhancement to 1st&Goal please
  105.    let us know. We are very responsive to our customers and we feel that the
  106.    way to make 1st&Goal the best program possible is to listen to the wishes
  107.    of our users.
