PHONEBOOK - Stores names and Phone numbers for Automatic Dialing. SERIAL-PORT - Configures Serial Port and sets Terminal Emulation options. MODEM - Configures the Modem for communication over the phone lines. FILE - Sets parameters for File Transfer from the Terminal option. COMPRESS - Allows files on disk to be compressed and expanded. TERMINAL - Performs terminal emulation using the settings in SERIAL-PORT.DISCONNECT - Disconnects the modem from the telephone line. GLOBAL - Sets selected Viscom options. UTILITY - Performs disk operations : Directory, Erase, Rename, View. PASSWORD - Allows control over compression and communication features. QUIT - Stops Viscom. Returns the computer to DOS. COMPRESS copies disk files and stores the data more efficiently so less diskspace is required to hold the same information. The compressed file can notbe executed or read until it has been EXPANDed. The encryption key uniquely scrambles the file so it can only be EXPANDed bya person that knows the "key" used to COMPRESS the file. The "Encryption Key" is a series of up to 8 characters selected by you. COMPRESS - Compresses a disk file after an encryption key is entered. The original file can be over-written or a new file can be created. EXPAND - Returns a compressed file to normal if the proper "encryption key" is entered. This always over-writes the compressed file. DIRECTORY - Displays selected file names. Compressed files will be blinking.VIEW - Displays the contents of a disk file. EXIT - Returns Viscom to the Main Menu. DIRECTORY - Displays selected file names within a directory. It uses the same format as the DOS Directory command. The names of the compressed files will be blinking. VIEW - Displays the contents of a disk file. ERASE - Erases a selected file. Erase will not erase multiple files on one command. RENAME - Renames a selected file to a new file name. Only one file can be renamed at a time. Both names must be valid DOS file names. EXIT - Returns Viscom to the Main Menu. PASSWORD - Enter the Current Password. The password will not be displayed as it is typed in. EXIT - Returns Viscom to the Main Menu. THE OPTIONS BELOW ARE ONLY ACTIVE AFTER THE CURRENT PASSWORD IS ENTERED NEW-PASSWD - Changes the Password after the new password is entered twice. [F2] DIAL - Dials the Selected phone number and connects to a modem. [F3] CALL - Dials the Selected phone number for "Calling" a person. [F4] ADD - Adds a new entry. Set serial parameters with the space bar. [F5] DELETE - Removes an entry from the phonebook. [F6] MODIFY - Changes the selected phonebook entry. [F7] SEARCH - Searches for an entry.
