  4. {COMMO} (tm) is a Telecommunications Program that offers great power, speed
  5. and flexibility in a small, easy-to-use package.

  7. {COMMO} is Shareware.  Please see REGISTER.FRM, COMMO.DOC or MACRO.DOC for
  8. complete pricing and ordering information (I am now accepting CREDIT CARDS).
  9. Registration allows you to eliminate the opening advertisement and to
  10. personalize your copy of the program.

  12. IMPORTANT:  Do you have the latest {COMMO} release?  Check in with one of the
  13. systems listed at the end of this file or listed in COMMO.FON.  There may have
  14. been new features added since this version was released.

  17. NEW USERS:  Run the batch file GUIDE.BAT (just type "guide" at the DOS
  18.             prompt).  This will show you a little bit of the program and allow
  19.             you to make preliminary changes to your Setup File, COMMO.SET.
  20.             Later you can take a more detailed look at the Setup File for much
  21.             greater customization of the program.

  23.             Please read the file COMMO.DOC.  {COMMO} is a little different
  24.             from other terminal programs and the time will be well spent.  Pay
  25.             special attention to the section "Quick Start Instructions" under
  26.             "Getting Started" (if nothing else, please read this section!) and
  27.             Appendix A "Setting Up Your Modem."

  66. This file also shows changes to several previous releases.

  68. {COMMO} 5.2 has some interesting new features and a number of minor bug fixes
  69. and improvements.  Support file changes are not required except to take
  70. advantage of the new features.

  72. NOTE to {COMMO} 4 users:  {COMMO} 5 is a major upgrade and requires changes to
  73. all of the support files.  Please refer to the file UPGRADE.DOC for a guide on
  74. upgrading from {COMMO} 4.xx to 5.xx.  Previous users are also advised to
  75. browse through COMMO.DOC and MACRO.DOC as well as the supplied support files
  76. in order to become familiar with the differences.

  78. The MOSTHOST macro has been streamlined for easier use.  A new expanded,
  79. BBS-like version is now available on disk to registered users.  See
  80. description below.

  84. HP 95LX Version

  87. There is now a special version of {COMMO} for the HP 95LX palmtop.  This
  88. version compensates for some of the hardware differences of the 95, but is
  89. otherwise identical to the standard version.  It is available in a
  90. supplementary archive (you will still need the standard version).

  92. On CompuServe it is available in the HP Systems Forum (GO HPSYS) under the
  93. filename COMMO9.ZIP.  Elsewhere the file is called CMOHPxxx.ZIP, where "xxx"
  94. is the release number.  Be sure that the release number of the supplement
  95. matches that of the standard version.  Registration applies to both versions.

  113. {COMMO} and {COMMO} for the HP 95LX.  In addition, the latest versions of a
  114. number of {COMMO} macros and utilities will be included on the disk:

  116.   COMMOPNS      Shad Muegge's file selection utility (Shareware version).
  117.                 {COMMO} Point-N-Shoot allows you to select files for uploading
  118.                 without typing filenames.  Integrates seamlessly with {COMMO},
  119.                 comes with macro support.

  121.   MOSTHOST      Enhanced version of Shad Muegge's host mode macro.  Lets you
  122.                 set up your own little BBS.  Added features include: messaging
  123.                 with word-wrap, bulletins, expert mode, hot menus, menus in
  124.                 separate files (for easy customizing, adding color, etc.),
  125.                 file descriptions for uploads, scheduled events, and more.

  128.   CMC           Don Garrett's {COMMO} Master Control macro.  Don wrote this
  129.                 for himself, but you can adapt it.  Automatically logs you
  130.                 onto your favorite BBS to do mail runs and other operations.
