  7. What on Earth is ABACUS?   
  8. ------------------------   
  9. ABACUS is a very efficient Math trainer with a built-in progress review  
  10. feature. The method used ensures optimum progress within a short period  
  11. of time. It is not only suited for students just beginning to learn Math,  
  12. but it is also useful for those whose computation capabilities have weakened  
  13. through the years. For example, those of us that need a calculator to check  
  14. the bill at a restaurant will also benefit. ABACUS allows parents and  
  15. teachers to review individual sessions as well as overall progress of their  
  16. children and pupils.

  18. Your PC:   
  19. --------   
  20. o WINDOWS 3.x or WINDOWS95   
  21. o Processor: 386+ (better: 486), 8MB RAM and 8-15MB free disk space  
  22.    
  23. Installation  
  24. ------------   
  25. Stop all other applications.  
  26.   
  27. ABACUS has different installation methods. If the file ABA_INST.EXE   
  28. exists, start the file by e.g. double clicking on the file.  
  29.   
  30. If ABACUS is on a floppy disk or CD, follow the instructions on the   
  31. disk or CD (starting SETUP.EXE should do).  
  32.   
  33. If the copy procedures are followed, everything should work. If errors occur  
  34. during the installation from disk, copy ALL FILES from all disks to an EMPTY  
  35. directory (e.g. C:\ABA_TEMP), and start SETUP.EXE. This directory can be 
  36. deleted afterwards.
