[HDNG]OPEN UNIVERSITY STUDENTS' ASSOCIATION:[EHDNG][PARA][STAT][BULL] Turnout at OUSA National Conference: 400-500 delegates[ESTAT][PARA]OUSA is not really a political union, and most of their campaigns relate directly to academic and welfare issues as they affect OU students (they're pushing for creche facilities at regional centres, for example). Of more than 80,000 students, about 12,000 apply for their membership cards, but fewer are genuinely active. OUSA is run by 27 student volunteers and a few full time staff.[HDNG]SA FACILITIES:[EHDNG][PARA]OUSA's main role is a campaigning and representative one and there is no union building although they do sell stationery and other products by mail and organise a few handy services such as book swapping, societies and back exam papers.[HDNG]CLUBS (NON SPORTING):[EHDNG][PARA]Art History; Bell-ringing; Christian Fellowship; Computing and Technology; Environment; Ethical Science; Geological; History; OU Graduates (London); ME; Musical; OUMPAS (disabled/able-bodied forum); Open Network (disabled); Occult; Poetry; Postal Chess; Psychological; Shakespeare; Socialist; Third World; Travel; Vegetarian; Women Changing.[HDNG]OTHER ORGANISATIONS:[EHDNG][PARA]OUSA staff publish 'OU Student' and the University publishes 'Sesame', which both feature students' contributions. Students raise OUSET funds (see below) and this takes the place of any rag organisation.[PARA][PARA]
