- Intel Satisfaxtion scanner driver
- HHSCAND.SYS & SAPI.EXE
- July 10, 1991
-
- The Intel SatisFAXtion board has a scanner port designed to accept a
- Logitech ScanMan 256 gray scale scanner. This scanner is shipped with a
- special version of the Logitech SAPI driver HHSCAND.SYS (2.00i). This
- driver will not work properly in Windows 3.x enhanced mode (garbled data or
- "junk" is returned from the driver). A temporary fix is to use the latest
- Logitech scanner driver (v 2.02) available from Logitech's CompuServe Forum.
-
- The latest Logitech driver ONLY works with the SatisFAXtion and NOT the
- Logitech ScanMan 256 board.
-
- The Intel SatisFAXtion scanner driver provides black and white, halftone
- and gray scale scanning for all ZSoft products. The driver consists of two
- parts, the Intel supplied HHSCAND.SYS and the ZSoft SAPI.EXE driver. See
- SAPI.DOC for more information on using the SAPI.EXE scanner driver.
-
- The Intel SATISFAX.SYS driver *MUST* precede the HHSCAND.SYS driver in
- CONFIG.SYS. If the SATISFAX.SYS driver is not loaded the scanner will
- appear to work (the light will come on), but no data will be transferred
- and the scanner will time out.
-
- The Intel device driver HHSCAND.SYS must be loaded from CONFIG.SYS and be
- loaded before the ZSoft driver. The commands provided by the driver are
- listed below and must appear on the HHSCAND.SYS line of your CONFIG.SYS
- entry.
-
- /A=xxx Sets the base I/O address of the scanner. The two valid
- settings are 250 and 350. The default is 350.
- /I=x Sets the interrupt request number (IRQ).
- /D=x Sets the DMA channel.
