- HAIKU COMPOSER
-
- The program generates three-line poems in the style of the
- Japanese Haiku. Because of the nature of English words, it was
- not possible to keep to the classical metre of 5-7-5 syllables in
- each haiku. The words in each line are selected at random, in a
- defined order, from a vocabulary of 200 articles, adjectives,
- nouns, verbs and prepositions. The poems have a nature theme, as
- did most traditional haiku.
-
- After running Haiku Composer, press any key to view each haiku in
- turn. If a particularly appealing haiku turns up, it can be
- saved on disk by pressing S. The haiku is added to a file
- HAIKU.TXT, which can be viewed or printed with a word processor
- which handles ASCII files. To relocate the haiku file to a
- different directory, change the pathname found in the program.
- The file contains a number of example haiku which were composed
- by the program during development. Press Q to quit the Haiku Composer.
