  17. 1. OVERVIEW:
  18.  
  19. Perfect Screens is a virtual screens (virtual desktops) manager. It allows 
  20. a user to organize work on several screens (desktops) and make the user to 
  21. feel like having several monitors. Organizing windows on several virtual 
  22. screens decrease the number of windows displayed on the screen at the same 
  23. time and allows the user better orientation and faster switching among 
  24. applications. The Taskbar is not full of buttons of all running applications 
  25. but only the buttons of applications presented on the given screen are in 
  26. the Taskbar. Windows can be copied/moved among screens very easily if 
  27. necessary. 
  28. Perfect Screens also dramatically simplifies launching applications and 
  29. accessing desired files. Each screen has its own Screen menu and toolbar 
  30. containing applications and files associated with the given screen. On each 
  31. screen, the user is only one click far from opening desired application or 
  32. file (or URL location).
  33. Having several screens, each for a typical activity like document processing, 
  34. networking, file management, system management, gaming, etc., allows the user 
  35. to logically divide work on several screens, be more efficient and have 
  36. clearer desktop.

  39. 2. INSTALLATION:
  40.  
  41. To install the Perfect Screens to your system run SETUP.EXE program.

  44. 3. REQUIREMENTS:

  48.    - 1.5 MB free disk space

  51. 4. LICENSE AGREEMENT:

  53. Upon your acceptance of this Agreement, Pitrinec Software (Author) grants to 
  54. you a nonexclusive license to use the Perfect Screens software (Software).
  55.  
  56. 1.Use of the Software.
  57.  
  58.   The Software  has been released for distribution as a SHAREWARE and 
  59.   may be distributed at no cost.  
  60.  
  61.   You are granted a license to try the Software for 30 days. After this time, 
  62.   the Software must be registered or removed from  the system.
  63.  
  64.   You may install the Software on a hard disk or other storage device; 
  65.   install and use the Software on a file server for use on a network for 
  66.   the purposes of (i) permanent installation onto hard disks or other 
  67.   storage devices or (ii) use of the Software over such network; and make 
  68.   backup copies of the Software.

  148.   1) Automatic recovery after crash.  If PS crashes (for
  149.      whatever reason) just restart it and PS will start
  150.      in the state left before the crash.

  201.      items.  Clicking such button will pop up the submenu.
  202.   4) Auto-hide.  Each toolbar can have auto-hide specified.

  204.      toolbar can be put to one integrated bar.  Integrated
  205.      bar looks and behaves as MS TaskBar (including auto-hide).
  206.   6) Network support.  Default configuration can reside on
  207.      a network drive and can be shared by many users.  Users
  208.      still can customize the shared screens by adding their
  209.      own (private) items to the screen menu (application 
  210.      toolbar).
  211.   7) Multiple user support.  Many users can share the same
  212.      Perfect Screens copy because each of them has its
  213.      own profile.
  214.   8) Improved password protections.  There is more levels 
  215.      of protection including network administrator password.
  216.   9) Integration with MSIE 4.0 active desktop technology.
  217.   10) Autorecovery after crash.  When PS crashes and is
  218.       launched again it recovers screens (applications on
  219.       screens) as it was before crash.
  220.   11) Improved big screen feature.
  221.   12) "All taskbar buttons" feature allows to switch on that
  222.       buttons of all running applications are in the TaskBar.
  223.       Default is that only application presented on the
  224.       active screen have buttons in the TaskBar.

  269.   1) If big screen is checked and there is not a window on the screen
  270.      the programme crashed when moved mouse cursor to the edge of the

  277.   1) Big screen - you can "scroll" screens to left and down if there 
  278.      is some programm on the screen exceeding the screen's edge.

  282.   3) You can change some screen settings (sound, ToolBar look) 
  283.      globally.  There is new Configuration/Global settings...

  288.   1) The programm doesn't "eat" resources (version 1.6 did).
  289.   2) "Toolbars have grey color" setting works again.

  316.   3) When you switch to a screen a sound can be played. This option
  317.      is a part of "Screen settings" now.

  319.   5) Tab-like buttons. (Can be selected in "Application settings", 
  320.      "Buttons and Icons" section.)
  321.   6) Splash screen can be switched off. (Can be switched off in "Application 
  322.      settings", "Advanced" section.)
  323.   7) Perfect Screens checks for already used shortcut keys.
  324.   8) Drag a window and drop it on another screen. Drag a window and move it 
  325.      to the left or right side of the screen like you want to move it 
  326.      outside of the screen.  When the cursor is on the edge of the screen 
  327.      the Perfect Screens automatically switches the screen to the next one.  
  328.      If you release mouse buttons then the window you originally caught is 
  329.      moved to the current screen.  This require to have switched on the option 
  330.      Go to next/previous screen... in the Application settings in the Advanced 
  331.      section.
  332.   9) Perfect Screens Help allows you to use Find function.  This allows you
  333.      "full text" searching in the help.
  334.  10) Perfect Screens window can overlap TaskBar (if "Always on top" option
  335.      is set on).
  336.  11) New help file - Perfect Screens Quick Help -was added.  The file name
  337.      is psqh.hlp.

  341.   1) Several bugs that may cause unstability were found and fixed.

  383.   1) It is possible to place screen buttons (icons) to the TaskBar (click 
  384.      on the yellow mouse cursor icon, select "Application settings" item 
  385.      from menu shown, choose windows position "On TaskBar")

  387.      on the cyan mouse cursor icon on the TooolBar, select "ToolBar settings" 
  388.      item from menu appeared, choose windows position "On TaskBar")
  389.   3) You can set the default screen (this is the one the Perfect Screens
  390.      switchs to after start).  (Do right mouse click on the screen icon
  391.      and from the menu appeared choose "Screen settings" item.)
  392.   4) ToolBars color may be either gray or the same as the screen 
  393.      background color.  (To set this click on the yellow mouse cursor 
  394.      icon, select "Application settings" item from menu appeared, select
  395.      "Advanced".)  
  396.   5) ToolTips.  Each icon in both the Perfect Screens window and
  397.      ToolBar shows the name if you move the mouse cursor over the icon
  398.      and wait for a while.
  399.   6) Application you launch from the ToolBar (or screen menu) may be 
  400.      automatically visible (accessable) on all screens. There is 
  401.      new check button in the Screen menu (ToolBar) item "Properties"
  402.      on the bottom of the dialog window.  
  403.   7) Right click on the yellow mouse cursor icon may pops up the Screen
  404.      menu associated with the current screen. (To set this click on the 
  405.      yellow mouse cursor icon, select "Application settings" item from 
  406.      menu shown, select "Advanced".)
  407.   8) There are new shortcut keys for switching among screens that replace 
  408.      Alt+left arrow, Alt+right arrow, Alt+down arrow keys.  These shortcut 
  409.      keys are optional.  (click on the yellow mouse cursor icon, select 
  410.      "Application settings" item from menu appeared, choose "Shortcut Keys".)
  411.   9) Context sensitive help.
  412.  10) If you do left mouse button click together with Alt key press on 
  413.      title bar of a window the menu with copy/move/remove window operations 
  414.      is shown. This is (sometimes) faster way how to copy/move/remove
  415.      window to/to/from screen.
  416.  11) You can save settings manually.  This protects you from loosing your
  417.      settings if your system crashes from any reason.
  418.  12) Switching among screens is a little bit faster now. 
  419.  13) You can switch to next/previous screen if you move and keep for a while
  420.      mouse cursor on right/left margin of the screen. This is optional and
  421.      you can switch on/off this feature in "Advanced" section of
  422.      Application settings.
  423.  14) Tabbed dialog windows.

  431.   1) Version 1.0 didn't cooperate correctly with Xmouse utility

  435.      library.  (The program didn't call mouse and keyboard next hook.)
