- A freeware "clipboard clipper"
-
- 32 bit for Win95, Win98, WinNT
-
-
- What this program does:
-
- This program stores bits of text that you commonly need (such as
- addresses) and pastes them directly into whatever application
- you are using at the time, at the text cursor position. For
- example, you can use this program to save you from having to
- continually type your postal address or the URL of your web
- page.
-
-
- Usage:
-
- This program is specially designed to be executed via the use of a
- keyboard shortcut. I personally use the F12 key to call-up this
- program. You can set the shortcut key by editing the program's
- shortcut "properties" dialog within your Windows program manager.
- You can get to the properties dialog by right clicking on the
- CLIPTEXT icon. To enter the hotkey into the dialog where it says
- "Shortcut key" simply press the key or keys you want for your
- hotkey (eg, press the F12 key).
-
- The idea is that when you want to use a particular bit of text in
- something you are writing (say, your address) you press the shortcut
- key you have chosen (say, F12), which brings-up the CLIPTEXT program.
- Then you press a key from 1..9 (its much faster than using the
- mouse) to immediately paste the text into the text you are writing,
- at the current cursor position.
-
- You can optionally send the text to the Windows clipboard at the
- same time by setting the "Copy to clipboard" checkbox.
-
- So, after you have set the hotkey in the program shortcut properties
- dialog there are two steps:
-
- 1. Press your shortcut key to execute Cliptext.
- 2. Press the number 1..9 to paste the text at
- the text cursor position.
-
- Edit pieces of text, and the button titles, by pressing the small
- buttons on the right edge of the CLIPTEXT window. You can have up
- to 9 commonly used pieces of text stored by the program.
-
- You can create a custom hotkey (ie, other than 1..9) for your
- piece of text by inserting an "&" symbol before the letter you
- want to use as a hotkey in the button title. For example, if
- you enter the button title as "&Sample" then the hotkey will
- be Alt-S, and the letter "S" on the button will be underlined..
