  8. OBJECTIVE
  9.  
  10. The objective of Flaps is to guide the different colored 
  11. marbles into their respective colored slots at the bottom of 
  12. the game board.  
  13.

  15. GAME PLAY
  16.  
  17. To begin a new game, click on the Play button at the bottom
  18. left hand side of the game board.   There are eight empty 
  19. slots at the bottom of the board.  These slots will be 
  20. colored blue, red, yellow or green.   This color must match 
  21. the marble that you guide into it.
  22.  
  23. The starting marbles will alternate from the left and right 
  24. springs located at the top of the game board.  As they 
  25. roll onto the board, you can click on the silver flaps to 
  26. direct the marble into the proper slot at the bottom.  If 
  27. you trap a marble between two flaps so that it cannot move 
  28. any further, then both the marble and the two flaps will be 
  29. removed from the board.

  31. The level will be over when all the slots at the bottom of 
  32. the board have been correctly filled with the matching 
  33. colored marbles.  On the first few levels, you have a total 
  34. of 25 marbles to complete each level. As the levels get 
  35. higher, you are given less marbles to complete each level.

  37. If you guide a different colored marble into a slot that is 
  38. already filled with the correctly colored marble, then the 
  39. slot will be emptied and points will be deducted from your score.

  41. The game will be over if you do not fill the eight slots with 
  42. the marbles allotted for each level.  (see chart below)

  44. Levels 1-4:    25 marbles
  45. Levels 5-19:   20 marbles
  46. Levels 20-25:  15 marbles

  49. LEVEL COMPLETED

  51. When you complete a level, the marbles you did not use will 
  52. give you extra bonus points.  Each unused marble adds 35 points 
  53. to your score.   A special 250 point bonus is given for completing 
  54. the level using only eight marbles.

  56. The Shareware version of Flaps has seven levels of play.  
  57. The Registered version of Flaps comes with 25 levels.
