  13. Space Explorer is a screen saver where various planets
  14. and space objects fly over the screen(the window of a
  15. space ship).It also inlcudes some COOL utility 
  16. functions such as MessagePad (which allows your visitors leave
  17. you Text, Voice, Picture, and even Movie) and Task Scheduler
  18. (which allows you launch executable files at the time you specify).

  38. A COOL shareware, Savervisor is included. Savervisor is a Screen
  39. Saver and Wall Paper Manager. It provides a lot of VERY COOL 
  40. functions:

  42.   - It appears as an icon that allows you launch a screen saver
  43.     instantly by a single click of RIGHT mouse button.
  44.  
  45.  - It can be run in a INVISIBLE mode. With this great feature,
  46.     you can just put it into Windows Startup group in Program 
  47.     Manager and forget it: It will take care all the management 
  48.     tasks while you never realize it is working for you!

  50.   - It allows you specify the sensitive areas where you can click
  51.     the RIGHT mouse button to launch a saver instantly.

  53.   - It provide saver (and wallpaper) scheduling capability.  That is, 
  54.     it allows you specify what saver(wallpaper) to be activate at a 
  55.     specified hour through a week.  It also allows you switch savers 
  56.     (wallpaper)through all the savers(BMP files) in your Windows 
  57.     directory and specify switchng period.

  61. NOTE: Savervisor is an independent shareware which requires a
  62. different registration.  That is, you have to register each of
  63. them separately. Registration of any of them will NOT cover the
  64. other.

  68. run setup.exe:

  71. A). What will be installed by setup.exe?
  72.  
  73.  The SETUP.EXE will copy five files into your windows directory:

  75.  space.src      -- The main executable file of Space Explorer;
  76.  space.txt      -- Documentation file;

  78.  collide.wav    -- Wave file required for collision sound effect;
  79.  space_0.wav      -- Wave files required for background music; 
  80.  space_1.wav

  83.  - planet14.bmp -- BMP files for space objects;

  85.  If the package includes the utility, Savervisor,  the SETUP.EXE

  110.  - VBRUN300.DLL;
  111.  - A sound card is recommended;

  113. C). How to install?
  114.  
  115.  "Step By Step" instructions for installation:
  116.  
  117.     1). Download the latest version of in_mt.zip and
  118.       VBRUN300.DLL(if you don't have one in your system);
  119.       
  120.       You can download VBRUN300.dll from following place:
  121.  
  122.         In compuserve, GO WINAV and search its library for
  123.         file named vbrun3.zip
  124.  
  125.         In WWW, http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/mark_qian

  127.         In Internet, ftp://ftp.coast.net/SimTel/win3/dll
  128.  
  129.         In America Online, Go to software library and search for
  130.         file named vbrun300.exe.
  131.  
  132.         After downloading and unziping it, you need to move it
  133.         into Windows system directry, c:\windows\system.
  134.  
  135.   2). Copy space.zip into a temporary directory, say c:\tmp;
  136.   3). Unzip space within c:\tmp using pkunzip.exe;
  137.   4). Run c:\tmp\setup.exe from File Manager(double click at the
  138.       icon of c:\tmp\setup.exe);
  139.   5). If this package includes a utility, Savervisor, you will be
  140.       asked to key in the directory where Savervisor will be installed.
  141.       You need to either key in you own directory or use the default 
  142.       one. If the package does not include Savervisor, you will not see the
  143.       dialog.
  144.   6). The setup program will then ask you choose from one of following
  145.          a). Run the saver now;
  146.          b). Setup the saver now;
  147.          c). Exit to Windows now;
  148.        You need to choose one of them.
  149.     Note: if you choose (click at) the first choice, "Run the
  150. saver now",
  151.           please don't move or click your mouse after click at
  152. the choice.
  153.           Otherwise, you will disable the saver right after you
  154. enable it.
  155.  
  156.   If you like setup or test the saver that you have installed,
  157. please open
  158.   the Desktop of Windows Control Panel, select the saver from
  159. Screen Saver
  160.   section, and test or setup the saver.

  162. D). TroubleShooting:
  163.  
  164.     Q:  I have downloaded your screen saver recently 
  165.         and I was having a problem with getting it to work
  166. properly.  
  167.         After initializing I get a message "... caused a general 
  168.         protection fault in module VGA.DRV at 0001:0ca2". 
  169.   
  170.     A:  Changed your screen driver in winsetup to SVGA.
  171.

  173. E). How to get more information?

  176. This program is a shareware.  You are welcome to distribute this package
  177. (space.zip) by any means: copy it to your friends, upload it to your
  178. favorite BBSs or On-line systems.  
  179. However, it is NOT a freeware. You will be able to use(evaluate) it up to 30 
  180. times or 30 days. You then have to register(pay fee to its author) if you still 
  181. want to use it after that.
