  8. Description:   MP3 CD Organizer helps you to get all your mp3 files
  9.                organized. Once the program has scanned your CD's and
  10.                harddrive(s) you will always know where to find a song.
  11.                It has powerful functions to search through the
  12.                database. Organizer also frontends Winamp for easy
  13.                playback of the songs that you have put on the playlist.
  14.                To make your own favorite list of songs for fast
  15.                playback later, Organizer can write playlist files,
  16.                save and edit ID3 tags, as well as
  17.                create HTML documents with your list of songs.

  35. Description of the different buttons in the program:

  37. Player
  38. Controls       - These are buttons to control Winamp.
  39.  
  40. Update Winamp  - Sends the songs in the playlist to Winamp.
  41.                  To overcome the problem with having songs on different
  42.                  CD's, select "copy to tempdir" in options, and the
  43.                  music on the CD's will be copied to the harddrive.
  44.  
  45. Copy           - Copies the songs in the playlist to a directory.
  46.  
  47. New            - Adds a new CD or a Directory to the database. All
  48.                  subdirectories will be scanned if selected in options.
  49.  
  50. Delete         - Removes a session from the database.
  51.  
  52. Playlist       - Writes the files you have chosen to a playlist
  53.                  file, M3U. If you later double-click on this file,
  54.                  the mp3's listed in it will be played in Winamp.
  55.  
  56. HTML           - Creates an HTML document with the list of your files.
  57.  
  58. Options        - Brings up the options dialog.
  59.  
  60. Random         - Randomly adds songs to the library.
  61.  
  62. Lyrics         - Displays the lyrics for the selected song.

  64. Preview        - Plays the selected song in the library.

  66. Search         - Searches for the files matching your specified
  67.                  criteria. You can drag & drop information from
  68.                  'ID3 Tags found' to these fields.

  70. Quick menu     - A quick-menu will appear when clicking the right
  71.                  mouse button.

  73. Save           - Saves ID3 info in the mp3 file. If the file is
  74.                  on a read-only media, the changes are made in the
  75.                  database only.

  77. Multisave      - Saves the artist, album, year and genre to a
  78.                  group of songs selected in the library.

  80. Session List   - Click a session in the list to display its contents
  81.                  in the library. Double-click a session to update it.

  88. subdirectories - Searches all subdirectories when adding files.

  91. tempdir        - Copies the files to a tempdir if they are on CD's.
  92.                  Then they will be played from there.
  93. Case sensitive
  94. search         - Differs between small letters, and capital letters
  95.                  in the search.

  97. Winamp:

  99. Find Winamp    - Searches for Winamp on your harddrive. You can
  100.                  also choose to do this manually.

  102. Continues
  103. playback       - The currently played song wont be interrupted
  104.                  when pressing 'Update Winamp'.

  106. Formatting:

  108. Don't use ID3
  109. tags           - If selected, Organizer will ignore any ID3
  110.                  information stored in each mp3 file (ID3 is a
  111.                  standard of storing information about artist,
  112.                  title, album and more, in the mp3 file).
  113.                  Otherwise, ID3 tags will always be used before the
  114.                  operation 'Filename formatting'.
  115. Filename
  116. Formatting     - If your files have a name convention, such as
  117.                  'artist-title.mp3', Organizer can use
  118.                  that for displaying info about the song.
  119.                  Just type how your filenames are structured
  120.                  in the edit field.
  121.                  Ex. %1 - %2 _ %3 means your files should be
  122.                  like this: 'artist-title_album.mp3'.

  124. Use folder as  - This option lets you choose if the name of the
  125.                  folder, where the file is stored, should be used
  126.                  to represent the artist, or the album, or if it
  127.                  should not be used at all.
  128.                  As with 'Filename formatting', this option will be
  129.                  overridden if there is ID3 information in the file.

  133. Lets you choose which info to show in the library.

  135. Internal Player:

  137. Contains volume control and equlizer for the internal player.

  142. Load Playlist     - Loads a playlist to the library

  144. Import            - Let you import a old database or a saved playlist.

  146. Update Session    - Updates a session and check if any files has been
  147.                     added/removed from the specified location.

  150. File              - Removes the selected file from the harddrive.

  152. Create shortcut   - Creates a shortcut on the desktop.

  154. Check for Updates - Connects to the Internet and check if there is a newer
  155.                     version available.

  160. Instructions for getting the program to run:

  162. Short Instructions:

  164. Simply unzip all the files in a directory of your own choice then
  165. double-click organizer.exe to start the program.
  166. You need to have the newest Mfc42.dll and ODBC support for MS Access
  167. installed.
  168. The last-mentioned is included in the MS Office 97/2000 installation.

  170. Long Instructions:

  172. This program is compiled with Visual C++ 6.0 and requires the newest
  173. Mfc42.dll. This file MUST be in the system in order for the program
  174. to work. If not found, the following error message will be returned:
  175. "The ORGANIZER.EXE file is linked to missing export MFC42.DLL:6880."
  176. The file can be downloaded from MS or from my homepage. It should
  177. then be placed in the windows\system directory, or in the Organizer
  178. folder.

  180. This program uses Winamp mp3 player, which must be present in the
  181. system. Winamp is shareware and can be downloaded from www.winamp.com.
  182. Winamp is the only player that will work.

  184. In order to get MP3 CD Organizer to run properly, there are some
  185. things that you need to have on your computer. Since this program
  186. uses a MS Access 97 database, you will need to have ODBC with
  187. support for Access 97 databases installed. Probably, you already
  188. have this if you are running Office 97/2000. These drivers can also
