Their care would have been delivered by a nearly identical replica of his late mother, in an environment that closely reproduced his home on Earth. Jeremy eventually found the courage to accept his mother's loss, and became a part of Worf's family through the Klingon R'uustai, or bonding, ceremony. Just prior to the detonation of Beta Niobe, Atoz mistook a landing party from the Starship Enterprise as Sarpeidon citizens seeking escape, and sent Kirk, Spock, and McCoy into his planet's past. It was not established who the opponent was in Garth's victory. It has been speculated that it might have been the Romulans, although the history implied by “Balance of Terror” (TOS) indicates that there was no Federation contact with the Romulans during that time frame. Kirk noted that Garth's victory was instrumental in making it possible for he and Spock to work together as brothers, so the Axanar battle apparently had something to do with holding the Federation together.

Ayelborne ignored strong warnings from Federation representative James Kirk that Klingon occupation would have potentially disastrous consequences to the technologically unsophisticated Organian people. It was later learned that the Organians were an incredibly advanced race of noncorporeal life-forms who had been masquerading in humanoid form in order to make it easier for the Klingon and Federation representatives to deal with them. Ayelborne predicted that the Federation and Klingon antagonists would become fast friends. (“Errand of Mercy” [TOS]). Ayelborne's prediction has in fact largely come true by the time of Star Trek: The Next Generation.

As chancellor, Azetbur continued Gorkon's peace initiative with the Federation, concluding with the historic Khitomer peace accords. (Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country). Interestingly, although Azetbur led the Klingon High Council after her father's death, the episode “Redemption, Part II” (TNG) established that a under Klingon law, a woman could not head the council.
