Her execution was prevented by personnel from the Starship Enterprise. Upon the birth of her son, Eleen became regent, ruling the Ten Tribes until Leonard James came of age. An empathic metamorph has the ability to sense what a potential mate wants and needs, and then to assume those behavioral traits. Male empathic metamorphs are relatively common, but females with this mutation occur only once in seven generations, and thus are extremely rare. Empathic metamorphs have a long and complex three-stage sexual maturing process. At the end of the final step, known as Finiis'ral, the metamorph permanently bonds with his or her life mate. Prior to that point, the metamorph can mold him or herself to any potential mate. Centuries ago, an empathic metamorph named Garuth was the object of affection of two brothers named Krios and Valt, and became the cause of a centuries-long war between two star systems that bore the names of the two brothers. After that battle, Endar discovered a three-year-old human male named Jeremiah Rossa near the body of his dead mother.
