Following the victory of Gowron against Duras family forces in the Klingon civil war of 2367-2368, Toral’s life was forfeit because his father and grandfather had wrongfully dishonored the family of Mogh. Worf, eldest son of Mogh, nevertheless declined to demand Toral’s death, much to the surprise of Gowron and the council. (“Redemption, Parts I and II” [TNG]). In 2372, Toral learned of Dahar Master Kor's quest for the legendary Sword of Kahless. Hoping to use the artifact for his own political gain, Toral followed Kor to a Hur’q planet in the Gamma Quadrant and tried to steal the sword. (“The Sword of Kahless” [DS9]). Toral fell in battle with Kor and Worf, but it was not totally clear whether he was killed or not. J. D. B’Elanna spent her early years with her parents at the Federation colony on planet Kessik IV. (“Faces” [VGR]). B’Elanna’s human father left her and moved to Earth when she was five. She and her Klingon mother subsequently went to live on the Klingon Homeworld, but as a result, B’Elanna wasn’t close to either of her parents. (“Eye of the Needle” [VGR]).
Torres attended Starfleet Academy, but dropped out in her second year because of difficulty with Starfleet discipline. (“Caretaker” [VGR]). She had been a member of the academy’s decathlon team. (“Basics, Part II” [VGR]). Torres felt that her sometimes-turbulent stint at the academy was evidence that she was not Starfleet material, but at least one of her instructors, Professor Chapman, was so impressed with her original thinking that he recommended she be accepted if she ever sought re-admission to the academy (“Parallax” [VGR]). She later joined the Maquis and served under Chakotay aboard a Maquis ship, and became a member of the Voyager crew when her ship and the Voyager were stranded in the Delta Quadrant in 2371. (“Caretaker” [VGR]). While in the Maquis, Torres was a close friend of Seska, not suspecting that she was a Cardassian agent. (“Maneuvers” [VGR]).
After joining the crew of the Voyager she had a violent altercation with Lieutenant Carey, her superior officer in engineering. Nevertheless, Captain Janeway chose Torres over Carey to be the chief engineer of the Voyager. (“Parallax” [VGR]). On stardate 48784, Torres was captured by a Vidiian scientist who used a genotron to split her into two individuals, one fully human, the other completely Klingon. SEE: Sulan. Her Klingon self sacrificed her life so that her human half could live, and Voyager's holographic doctor was subsequently successful in restoring her original genetic structure to her surviving half. The experience helped Torres realize the importance of each half to her personality. (“Faces” [VGR]). Torres once sought Chakotay’s help in locating her animal guide. She didn’t get along with her guide and tried to kill it. (“The Cloud” [VGR]). SEE: vision quest. When fellow Voyager crew member Vorik underwent the Vulcan Pon farr in 2373, he asked Torres to become his mate. Torres declined, but nevertheless experienced Pon farr herself, the result of a neurochemical imbalance introduced by Vorik. Torres subsequently attempted to mate with Tom Paris. Torres’s first appearance was in “Caretaker” (VGR); in early episodes Roxann Biggs was credited as Roxann Biggs-Dawson.

Requiring only 17 minutes of sleep per rotation and storing liquid nutrients in plastic fibers throughout his body, Tosk was completely self-sufficient. Brought aboard the station after his craft was damaged, he formed a friendship with Chief Miles O’Brien. Hampered by a code of silence, Tosk could not communicate his role as the hunted, even when the Hunters descended upon the station to take him back to their planet in disgrace. O’Brien disobeyed orders and the Prime Directive by allowing Tosk to escape, thus continuing the hunt and fulfilling his friend’s deepest wish: the chance to die with honor. The Uthat became something of a holy grail to criminals from the 27th century who traveled back in time to find the object, and for 24th-century archaeologists, who believed that the legends of the Uthat had a basis in fact. These included Dr. Samuel Estragon, who spent half of his life in search of the Uthat. Upon his death in 2366, his assistant Vash was successful in finding the device on planet Risa, hidden in a Horga’hn statuette. Vash was not the only one interested in the Uthat; other parties included Sovak and two Vorgon criminals from the future. Jean-Luc Picard, vacationing on Risa at the time, destroyed the Tox Uthat to prevent it falling into unscrupulous hands. (“Captain’s Holiday” [TNG]).

One legacy of the Trabe control of the Kazon was the fact that the Kazon continued to use spacecraft of Trabe design for many years thereafter. (“Initiations” [VGR], “Maneuvers” [VGR]). The surviving Trabe wandered through space, pursued by the Kazon, who would not allow the Trabe to settle on a new planet. In 2372, Trabe leader Mabus convinced Starship Voyager Captain Kathryn Janeway to call a conference of the Kazon first majes to discuss a plan for peace. However, the conference proved to be a trap by the Trabe to kill the most powerful Kazons as an act of revenge. The attempt failed, deepening Kazon hatred against the Trabe. (“Alliances” [VGR]).

Tracey then became involved in an ancient struggle between the Yangs and Kohms on Omega IV, providing phaser weapons to that primitive civilization. Tracey was later taken into custody by Starship Enterprise personnel and charged with having violated the Prime Directive. (“The Omega Glory” [TOS]).
