- ■ Currently, SuperSonic includes sound drivers for the following
- sound cards and compatibles:
-
- * SoundBlaster /2.00/2.01/Pro/16/Awe32
- * ProAudio Spectrum /Plus/16
- * Windows Sound System 1.x/2.x
- * ESS 688 Audiodrive Chipset
-
- 90% of sound cards on the market are compatible with one or
- more of these drivers. For example, the Ensoniq Soundscape is
- compatible with both the SoundBlaster and the Windows Sound
- System. At the date of this release, we're working on drivers
- for the following sound cards:
-
- * Gravis UltraSound
- * Roland Rap-10
- * Digital Audio Labs CardD/CardD+
-
- If your sound card isn't supported in this release, please
- contact us, since we may have a driver for it now.
-
- ■ If your sound card is BOTH SoundBlaster and Windows Sound
- System compatible (like Reveal's SC400-SC600), we recommend
- that you set up your sound card for Windows Sound System
- emulation. These types of sound cards provide access to their
- mixer and better sampling rates only when they're in Windows
- Sound System emulation. (Consult your sound card manual for
- information on choosing Windows Sound System emulation.)
-
- ■ If your sound card is ONLY SoundBlaster compatible, the mixer
- device may or may not work. (Some SoundBlaster compatible cards
- have a unique mixer.) If this is the case, you'll need to use
- the mixer program that came with your sound card for adjusting
- volume levels. (Windows 95 users can use the Multimedia -
- Volume Control program.) Before running SuperSonic, be sure
- to set recording volume levels for the Cd, External, and
- Microphone channels at their maximum setting so that SuperSonic
- can record/monitor these audio sources. Also, be sure to select
- one or more of these channels for recording mode. (Windows 95
- users can run the Volume Control program located in the
- Multimedia menu. Select Properties from the Options menu.
- Select Adjust Volume for Recording and press OK. Click on
- Select for the Cd, External, and Microphone channels and set
- their levels at maximum.)
-
- ■ Windows 3.x users must exit Windows before running SuperSonic.
-
- ■ Windows 95 users, please note: You shouldn't experience any
- problems when executing SuperSonic from Windows 95. However,
- if you do, try restarting your computer in DOS mode and then
- executing SuperSonic. This may help you isolate the problem.
-
- ■ SuperSonic NOW has context sensitive help! Press and HOLD
- DOWN the right mouse button on any button/slider/display and
- detailed information will display until you RELEASE the right
- mouse button.
-
- ■ All of SuperSonic's support programs also include context
- sensitive help. Press F1 at any time and you'll get detailed
- information about the currently selected option.
-
- ■ SuperSonic is extremely customizable. All devices can be
- repainted and resized to your liking. All displays, buttons,
- sliders, etc. within a device can be resized, repositioned,
- and repainted. You can also create custom 256 color cursors.
- See Appendix B - Advanced Information.
-
- ■ If you've got any great ideas of new devices and/or features
- you would like to see us add, please call or write us. See
- program manual cover for our phone number, postal mail, and
- email addresses. We're currently working on the following:
-
- * Support for more sound cards.
- * Support for multiple CD-ROM drives with D.J. capabilities.
- * Calibrated Spectrum/Peak Analyzers with programmable
- octave/band split.
- * Real-time digital effects processor.
- * Module player/editor.
-
- That's all! We hope you like SuperSonic and we're interested in
- your comments, suggestions and criticisms!
