- Research Systems' Visible Human CD (Demo Version)
-
- This demo version is intended to provide a sampling of the functionality
- and image quality available on the Visible Human CD.
-
- In this demo version, only one image of each type may be viewed (with
- the exception of coronal photographs, as described below). This means that
- no matter where the line guides are positioned within the Navigator Views,
- the same singular image will always be displayed in the Visible Human
- Image window.
-
- To demonstrate the animation features, sixty-eight coronal photographs
- have been provided. These images represent every fifth coronal photograph
- available in the full-featured version of the Visible Human CD.
-
- Animating Images
- ----------------
- To animate the coronal photographs, follow these simple steps:
-
- 1. Select the Image Modality toggle button labeled 'Photograph' (in the
- upper lefthand corner of the Navigator window).
- 2. Select the Orientation toggle button labeled 'Coronal' (in the lower
- lefthand corner of the Navigation window).
- 3. Click and drag on the Number of Images slider to the desired number of
- images.
- 4. Click in any of the three Navigator Views to position the range of
- images.
- 5. Select the 'Animate Images' menu item under the File menu.
-
- Animation Window Size
- ---------------------
- All animations are scaled to fit within a specified amount of memory.
-
- To increase the size of the animation window (within the limits of the size
- of your display monitor), simply increase the number of Kilobytes to be
- used for animations. This is accomplished by selecting the 'Animation...'
- menu item under the Preferences menu, then typing in the appropriate number.
-
- Animation Color
- ---------------
- Note that the color lookup table for the animation is initialized based on
- the color distribution in the first frame of the movie. Thus, it is a
- good idea to choose a range of images where the first image lies within
- the body to ensure reasonable color sampling. If the first frame is blank,
- then the colors will be uniformly distributed over the entire range of
- possible colors (without any regard for the particular subset most suited
- for displaying the anatomical photographs).
