- page design can be uniquely tailored to your specific needs.
- Using Backstage Designer you will create stunning multimedia
- web pages with a few clicks of the mouse.
-
- Shockwave is Macromedia's revolutionary technology that enables
- Macromedia users to publish their content on the World Wide Web
- replete with animation, sound, interactivity, and all the visual
- and aural impact of multimedia. Updates and additional information
- about Shockwave is available at http://www.macromedia.com/.
-
- Java is a programming language (like the popular C++ language)
- that's designed to address a wide variety of software application
- development for the Internet. Java supports programming for the
- Internet in the form of platform-independent Java applets (small
- applications).
-
- Descriptions of the Macromedia PowerApplets:
-
- SlideShow (Shockwave for Director)
- SlideShow enables you to import from 1 to 20 images and create
- a slide show sequence for your web page. You can use this applet
- for many applications, from an electronic catalog to an
- advertisement display or an on-line photo album. Each image can
- have a duration for display and a special transition setting
- applied to it for visual impact.
-
- Icons (Shockwave for Director)
- Easily add professionally designed, graphically coordinated buttons
- and icons to web pages. Icons is a collection of useful animation
- objects to be used in web pages. You can save time by using
- these professionally styled buttons and icons while creating a visually
- coordinated look for your web site. The Icons can be assigned links to
- other pages on your web site or anywhere on the World Wide Web.
-
- Animator (Shockwave for Director)
- Easily animate your company's logo for impact on your web page.
- Animator enables you to animate an image or image sequence across a
- display area using a simple set of animation paths and options.
- An easy-to-use single screen interface allows you to determine the
- motion path, timing, and duration of the animation.
-
- Banners (Java)
- Make your text message stand out with animation.
- This applet will display text in several appealing and animated
- styles against a background image or solid color. Using
- Banners, you will be able to select animation styles, font and
- color combinations, and special text effects that will stand out
- when visitors view your site. Additionally, the displayed text
- will also serve as a link to other locations either on your site
- or elsewhere on the web. Banners can be configured in dozens of
- ways to best suit your application.
-
- Bullets (Java)
- Add color-cycling to bullets and horizontal bars for a unique
- on-line look. This applet allows the simple insertion of unique
- and attractive bullets and horizontal bars to spice up the look
- of a page. There are five bullets from which to choose, each has
- five styles that can be applied to it.
-
- Charts (Java)
- Add bar charts to your web page to simply communicate complex
- numeric data. The Chart applet reads a simply formatted data file
- and plots up to six data series together in an attractive bar chart.
- Read data from a local file, or one located anywhere on the web, and
- plot its contents. Select from vertical bars, stacked vertical
- bars, horizontal bars, or stacked horizontal bars.
-
- Documentation and examples for each of the PowerApplets is provided
- in a set of HTML pages in the folder with each PowerApplet. To view
- the documentation, open the files using any web browser.
