- A New Scenario for SimCity 2000 DOS
- by Danny Linehan
-
- This is a brand new scenario that you can enjoy after being tired of
- those same old five that came with the game. Yes, they know you well by now,
- and they understand that you can easily save them. They cheer at the sight
- of your mouse arrow choosing them for salvation. Now, why don't you help
- these poor guys and gals out of a little bind. They really need it!
-
- The citizens of this bustling young city just love to brag to their
- neighbors about the awe-strickening beauty of their home. Yes, the Silent
- Towers mountain range rests on the outskirts of their town, and they just
- love to sit back and behold it. However, their arrogance catches up to them
- when a troublesome magma build-up in one of the valleys blows up into a
- massive volcano. Lava and ash fly everywhere, and it is up to you to save
- them, thus restoring their cherished bragging rights. Are you up to it???
-
- There are really three objectives to this scenario. First, you must
- raise the population to 50,000 in ten years. Second, the average land value
- must be over $160,000 per acre. To monitor this, check the graphs window.
- Hit the value button, and you will see a number (hopefully 100 something).
- This number is in thousands; if it says 197, then it is actually $197,000.
- Therefore, you want it to say at least 160. Third, you must accomplish all
- of this with at least $2000 in the bank and no outstanding bonds. This
- scenario is a bit more difficult than my last (Evergreen Heights), and I
- hope to make future scenarios at about this level.

- INSTALLATION
-
- To install, simply copy the file silent.scn to your SimCity 2000
- scenario subdirectory after it is unzipped--Copy to path C:\SC2000\SCENARIO.
-
- ==========
- This scenario took a bit more work than Evergreen Heights. Like
- Heights, though, I am still not able to edit the picture portion of the
- scenario file, so you should see an exhilarating flat green square where
- the picture should be.
-
- Once again, I would like to thank SC2KMaster (aka Mr Compu5), Maxis for
- the greatest computer game ever (this game has kept me up later than any
- other, thus it is the greatest), and the authors of SimCity 2000: Power,
- Politics, and Planning. If you have any comments or suggestions, feel free
- to write me at my internet address: atomicdan@aol.com (AOL: Atomic Dan).
- Now, go and help those unfortunate Sims.
