- INTRODUCTION
-
- This file is included with the ANT2.RTL set of levels.
- It explains a bit about the levels, explains how to run them, and
- gives other useful info.
-
- ANT2.RTL contains a total of 9 comm-bat levels. The first 4 were previously
- available as the ANT1.RTL set of levels, and the other 5 are completely new.
- The original 4 levels are included to enable people to play any of the 9
- levels without having to quit ROTT and load a different .rtl file. Also,
- because these files compress extremely well, it makes very little difference
- to the size of the .zip file.
-
- These levels were created with the excellent ROTT level editor,
- ROTTED by Wayne Sikes.
-
- I would appreciate any comments you may have (good or bad) so I can improve
- on these for my next set of levels.
-
- Comments can be sent to me at 100344,3715 - compuserve
- 100344.3715@compuserve.com - Internet
-
- PLEASE GIVE ME SOME FEEDBACK ON THESE LEVELS !!!!

-
- TYPE OF LEVELS
-
- The levels in the set are all designed for comm-bat play,
- in either normal or score mode.
-
-
- NUMBER OF PLAYERS SUPPORTED
-
- The levels were designed primarily for 2 player use, since that is what I
- play most, but I have added support for more players.
- Most of the levels support 8 players, but there are a couple of exceptions.
- "The Cross" and "Don't Believe Your Eyes" only support 4 players,
- and "Don't touch that switch" only supports 6 players.

-
- ABOUT THE LEVELS
-
- Beware Of The Dog: This level is the first one I created. I included
- the dog powerUp, partly to see what you looked like
- in Dog mode, but it is a good weapon - dogs are
- very hard to spot.
-
- Fire: The name is self explanatory. The flames are a big
- hazard in this level, especially as some of them
- follow a slightly unpredictable path.
-
- Bazooka Bowl: A small level, with bazookas being the main weapon.
- Because of the size of the level, there is nowhere
- to hide, which results in a high body count.
-
- The Cross: A fairly small level. A few walls and doors give
- you somewhere to hide - but not for long.
-
- Dont Believe Your Eyes: This is probably the wierdest level seen for ROTT.
- I have used some of the undocumented features of
- the game to produce a level with invisible objects,
- platforms, and weapons. When an opponent is killed,
- and gets reincarnated, depending on the location of
- the other players, different things become visible.
- There are healing basins, platforms, jump pads,
- weapons, and hazards - all invisible to start with.
- Have fun with this one.
-
- Don't Touch That Switch: Actually why not touch it ? If the wrong door is
- opened when the switch is on, someone will regret
- making a bad mistake.
-
- Gridlock: A simple idea, this level is a simple grid, but
- altered so you can't see all the way down a row.
- This level is easy to lose people in, and is best
- suited to playing with more than 2 players. 4 to 8
- is ideal.
-
- Hide And Seek: Plenty of low walls to hide behind as you search for
- your opponents should make this level fun.
-
- Bouncy Castle: I was in a silly mood when I created this one.
- I hope you like bouncing - you'll be doing a lot
- of it in this level. It's surprisingly fun.

- HOW TO RUN THESE LEVELS
-
- To use these and other add-on levels for ROTT, first of all copy the file
- ANT2.RTL into your ROTT directory, then run SETUP and select the option
- "Use modified Stuff" then select "choose alternate game levels" or
- "choose alternate battle levels". Highlight ANT2.RTL and press the
- space bar - a tick will appear by the file name. Then return to the main
- menu and either start a modem game, serial game, network game, or to look
- at the levels select "save and run rott". In 1 player mode, there are no
- exits or opponents as these levels are created exclusively for comm-bat play
-
- NOTE. IN ORDER TO RUN THESE LEVELS, YOU MUST HAVE THE REGISTERED VERSION
- OF "RISE OF THE TRIAD" FROM APOGEE.
-
- NOTE. You may use these levels as a starting point when creating
- your own levels, but if you do this, then I would appreciate a
- mention in any accompanying text files
-
- NOTE. Please distribute these levels, but if you do, then please distribute
- the archive containing the .rtl file and this text file.
