  1. How to install your new QUAKE level

  5. 1)  In your QUAKE directory, make sure you have a subdirectory called `MAPS'
  6.     You can create it in DOS like so:
  7.  
  8.        md MAPS
  9.  
  10. 2)  Now you need to run UPTHING to convert the map patch file ________.THG
  11.     to a proper QUAKE map (with .BSP on the end).
  12.     Note that this could use up to 1 megabyte of disk space.
  13.  
  14.     Run it like so:
  15.  
  16.        upthing id1.pak@maps/test1.bsp ________.thg maps\________.bsp
  17.  
  18.     It should only take a second or two.
  19.  
  20. 3)  It is now possible to play the level!
  21.     Go into QUAKE as per usual, and type in:
  22.  
  23.        map ________
  24.
