- IN-FLIGHT DIALOGUE

- "Giants!"
-
- "What giants?" says Sancho Panza.
-
- "Those thou seest there," answeres his master, "with the long arms, and some
- have them nearly two leagues long... AND THEY'RE AT TEN-THOUSAND FEET!"
-
- "Look, your worship," Sancho radios back; "what we see there are not giants
- but windmills, and what seem to be their arms are the sails that turned by
- the wind make the millstone go."
-
- "It is easy to see," replies Don Quixote, "that thou art not used to this
- business of adventures; those are giants; and if thou art afraid, away with
- thee, bug out of this and betake thyself to prayer while I engage them in
- fierce and unequal combat."
-
- So saying, he gives the afterburner to his winged-steed Tomcat, heedless of
- the cries his squire Sancho sends after him, warning him that most certainly
- they are windmills and not giants he is going to attack. He, however, is so
- positive they are giants that he neither hears the cries of Sancho, nor
- perceives, near as he is, what they are, but makes at them shouting, "Fly
- not, cowards and vile beings, for a single knight attacks you."

- END GAME
- ..underline
- .body
- By and by, our man from la Mancha succeeds -- not with a lance, but with
- Maverick missiles. So elated is he in his victorious accomplishment that he
- dives near to the burning rubble that floats upon the water nearly two miles
- below, then shoots straight up toward the brilliant mid-day sun and pierces
- through one of the lingering hoop-like vestiges of the giants' robes.
