  1. Replacement for the Plasma Rifle sound.

  3. Are you annoyed by that chalkboard scratching horn noise for the Plasma Rifle?
  4.  
  5. Well, here is an awesome replacement!
  6.  
  7. This one sounds more like a plasma energy bolt discharge followed by
  8. air ionization. Totally cool!!!
  9.  
  10. Here is how to install...
  11.  
  12. 1. UnZip PLASMA.ZIP into your Doom folder. PLASMA.ZIP contains three files:
  13.  
  14.     A. NEWPLSMA.WAV
  15.     B. DMAUD.EXE
  16.     C. NEWPLSMA.TXT
  17.  
  18. 2. From a DOS prompt, type:
  19.  
  20.     dmaud 50 -e oldplsma.wav    [RETURN]
  21.  
  22.     This extracts the original Plasma Rifle sound and stores it in OLDPLSMA.WAV file.
  23.  
  24. 3. Now type:
  25.  
  26.     dmaud 50 -s newplsma.wav    [RETURN]
  27.  
  28.     This stores the new Plasma Rifle sound into the DOOM.WAD
  29.  
  30. To reinstall the original Plasma Rifle sound, type:

  32.     dmaud 50 -s oldplsma.wav
  33.  
  34. You may distribute PLASMA.ZIP freely but do not alter or sell it. Enjoy!
