- QUIZGEN.EXE is a Quiz Generating Program written for MSDOS
- machines. It will create a randomly selected Quiz from a Mas-
- ter File of up to 150 questions. Different Master Files can

- printing out both the Quiz and Answer key.

- *** No Master File Loaded ***

-
- Selecting # 1 will let you create a new Master File. Type
- each question EXACTLY as you would like it to come out on
- paper. Unlike a word processor, the program does not
- compensate for broken words at the end of a line. Don't hit
- the <ENTER> key until you have typed in the whole question
- (up to 256 characters).
- Hitting <ENTER> gets you to the first Multiple Choice
- answer. Type the selection for the first answer. Continue
- until you have completed all four possible answers. Then you
- will be prompted for the correct answer (A-D).
- NOTE: On questions that do not require a multiple choice
- response (I.E. Essay Type questions) just hit enter at all
- the prompts for selection A-D and the Correct Answer. In this
- manner you can mix Multiple Choice and Questions requiring a
- only write-in response.
- When you have completed constructing your Master File just
- type "DONE" at a Question prompt to terminate the session.
- You will then be prompted for a filename to save it to disk and
- then returned to the Main Menu.
- Selecting # 2 on the Main Menu allows you to add questions
- to a previously created Master File. Just load (selection # 3)
- the file you want to add to and select this option.
- Select # 3 will allow you load any Master Files you have
- on the Disk (there is a sample file called SAMPLE for you to
- try out supplied with the program).
- Selection # 4 will allow you to view or edit a Master File
- after it has been loaded.
- # 5 allows you to view the Master Files on the Disk and de-
- lete any files from the disk.
- # 6 allows you to create a Quiz that is randomly selected
- from a previously loaded Master File. You will be prompted as
- to how many questions you want in the quiz. Don't type a
- number larger than the number of questions you have in the
- Master File. After the Quiz is created you will be returned
- to the Main Menu.
- # 7 works like # 4, except you will be viewing the
- Randomly Selected Quiz.
- # 8 prints the Quiz Sheet. You will be prompted as to if you
- are using Single Sheet paper or Continuous (FANFOLD) paper. Sel-
- lecting Single Sheet <S> will halt the printer to allow you to
- put a fresh sheet into the printer. Then you will be prompted
- for a Quiz Heading and a Short Instruction that will be print-
- ed on the top of the Quiz Sheet. Then it will prompt you to
- set the Top-Of-Form and hit <ENTER> the printed quiz will have
- 8 questions per sheet.
- # 9 will print the answers to the selected quiz.
- # 10 returns you to DOS

- I hope this program is of some use to you, I wrote the
- program for a friend of mine that is an Educator in Junior
- High School, and his positive response to it prompted me to
- offer it as Shareware. If you have any comments or
- suggestions, please feel free to contact me.
