- Instructions
-
- This simple program will unlock your machine, if it
- has a password protecting the filing system. It also
- displays your name on the screen on boot up, so
- providing some extra security in case of theft.
-
- To use the program, double click on it. To make it
- run automatically on a Risc PC, hold down Shift,
- double click on the computer's main !Boot
- application, go into Choices, Boot and then Tasks.
- Copy !LogOn to that directory.
-
- When the computer is booted, it will display a
- security message and ask for the password. To ignore
- the request, simply close the window. This is useful
- if you allow friends to play games, but not to
- modify the system at all.
-
- To change the security message, hold down Shift and
- double click on !LogOn, then edit the file
- 'Messages'.
-
- If the computer is not password-protected, this
- program will quit immediately. You can set or
- change the password using the configuration system
- in !Boot. !LogOn is intended for use with the FSLock
- password system.
