Geoff Preston is the Head of Information Technology at Highgate Wood School in North London. Originally trained to teach CDT, Geoff gradually changed to teaching Computer Studies whilst at his previous school. Five years ago he was appointed Head of IT at Highgate Wood where he inherited about 20 BBC model 'A' and 'B' computers (in various states of dis-repair) and the promise of some serious IT funding. He chose the then new Archimedes computers and has gradually built up the department into a very impressive study area. This was then networked and he then pushed the net through the school linking first the Learning Resource Centre and then Maths. A fibre-optic link connects Modern Languages and the English and Home Economics departments. There are now currently over 100 computers in 25 rooms in 10 departments.

Once again, this issue we have some free software in the infamous 'SpectFS' directory. To access this, simply click _here_"Regulars.Filer_Open", and when you return to the desktop, its filer viewer will be open. Alternatively, you can click Adjust on the iconbar icon in the desktop, or select 'SpectFS viewer...' from the iconbar menu.

We were going to include the latest version of "Cue to Track" on this disc, but due to lack of space we couldn't fit it in. However, the new version is the official desktop front- end to the QTM player module v1.22. You can get your copy from the usual public domain sources.
