- RISC OS 3 BUGS
- {fon:tri}
-
- Apparently, so I've heard, there are hundreds of bugs in RISC OS,
- some are documented and some are not. Here are just a few of the
- more amusing ones that I've come across and that you may or may
- not have. If you know of any more then get in touch and we'll list
- them in the next issue of Spectrum.
-
- Internal error: address exception when you click Menu on the left
- hand side of the task manager info box. This is probably a result
- of some dirty programming by Acorn when writing their 'team' routine
- (clicking on the letters 'team' successively with Menu in the Author
- info acknowledges the RISC OS authors).
-
- Trying to adjust the RamDisc size when the RamDisc is not empty,
- then clicking on OK in the error box will start a message protocol
- to save the desktop !Boot file underneath the pointer. First save
- something (eg. !Palette) to the RamDisc, open the Tasks window and
- scroll it down to display the RamDisc size, now open up a text editor
- window or a filer window and position it just below the RamDisc size
- bar. Then adjust the RamDisc size and click on OK in the error box,
- the !Boot file will be saved.
-
- And we all know about the bugs in !Paint. Ever tried to rotate a
- sprite by 90 degrees or export a section of a sprite which has a mask?
- These bugs however, don't come from the !Paint application itself, they
- are the responsibility of "OS_SpriteOp". Mind you, despite the bugs,
- it's still the only useable sprite editor there is, actually it's the
- only sprite editor there is as opposed to an art package.
