  26. The node referenced as an alternate gateway needs to be in the LOCAL host table.
  27. Try adding it and see if things start to work.

  29. I'm doing something similar but I want ALL mail to go through a central mail 
  30. clearinghouse. I use an MX record to accomplish this. The record looks like:

  32.                               Local MX database

  34. Destination                  Preference      Gateway
  35.  
  36. 0.0.0.0                         100          rowe
  37.  
  38. rowe, of course, is my mail handling system. rowe is in the local host table.
  39. the 0.0.0.0 destination is sort of a wildcard that matches all destinations.
