- Maybe someone will make me a liar on this, but I don't think that MultiNet
- can be (or has ever been capable of being) coerced into accepting "cd .."
- (if I am wrong, I would really like to see the necessary revisions).
- However, I would suggest that your users be aware of the "cdup" command in
- ftp, which essentially is "cd ..". This command is available on just about
- every ftp implementation I have ever seen (UCX -- pronounced yuccks IMO --
- in VMS mode is the lone exception, but UCX in VMS mode is an exception no
- matter how you cut it). If they complain, they're simply hardheaded as
- "cp", "copy" and the like become "[m]get" -- in other words, it's simply
- the (relatively universal) syntax for for the ftp utility itself. With the
- use of moving down a tree one level at a time and using cdup to move up a
- tree one level at a time, MultiNet is not significantly different that most
- U*ix implementations (but a heck of a lot friendlier, IMO -- thanks, TGV!).
