- 1) Manhours investment in VMS (over 300 manyears in one case)
- 2) Conversion costs/downtime
- 3) Performance advantage over SPARC 10 (significant)
- 4) Pricing is much better
- 5) You will not experience the grief of going to Solaris 2.0 (if you thought
- VMS 4.0 or VMS 5.0 were bad...)
- 6) If the decision is made to run Unix or OSF, the AXP can. The SPARC can't
- run VMS.
- 7) VMS is compliant with all final POSIX specs (and in line with most of the
- preliminary ones).
- 8) It's what I want - Well, this one doesn't work often :-)
