  45. It *IS* possible NOW to have priority systems for buses at traffic lights. This can 
  46. achieved by fitting some kind bus-sensors just before traffic lights. Another
  47. alternative is to change the timings of traffic lights so that they no longer are
  48. optimum for 30mph cars but rather are optimal for buses. Personnally I think the first
  49. idea is the best and will work whereas the 2nd would be very hard to implement because
  50. how do you determine how long a bus will stop at a bus stop?

  54. PS: There is a pathetic situation in Manchester (UK) at the moment - there is this new
  55. RLT/Metro-link tram system which has to stop at traffic lights and wait for the cars.
